A charming and relatable picture book about a child's first sleepover experience from the beloved author-illustrator of Lyle, Lyle Crocodile. Ira is thrilled about his first sleepover at his friend Reggie's house, until his sister makes him question taking his favorite teddy bear! Will Reggie laugh at his teddy bear? Can Ira sleep without it? A funny back-and-forth ensues in this classic picture book about staying true to yourself. A perfect read-aloud for every young reader with their own bedtime friends. Review: A perfect read, in great condition! - I love this book! I read it to my children and now I'm reading it to my granddaughter. The book was in perfect condition. Review: "Is that your teddy bear?" - Ira has a dilemma - he is thrilled to be invited over to Reggie's house for his very first sleep over, but his older sister got him really thinking. At home Ira sleeps with a teddy bear named Tah Tah. He's never slept without him. But what will Reggie think if he knew Ira slept with a teddy bear? What would Reggie say if he learned the bear's name is Tah Tah? "Suppose Ira doesn't like sleeping without his teddy bear. Suppose he absolutely hates sleeping without his teddy bear. Should he take his teddy bear with him? Will Reggie laugh at him?" Ira Sleeps Over is an outstanding, read-aloud bedtime tale. It is written with a firm grasp of kindergarten logic and will appeal to children and parents alike. Bernard Waber did a wonderful job of properly pacing the dialogue and it really is a delight to read out loud. There are a couple characters, providing an enjoyable opportunity to affect different voices and even different styles for the same character at different times. The book runs 48 pages, but it is very easy to finish in under ten minutes. My wife and I frequently read it to our two boys. It is a favorite of our 4-year-old and occupies a proud place among the top bedtime books on our shelf.

A jewel of a story that is as fun as Reggie's amazing junk collection!
Throwing a crazy pillow fight, rummaging through the treasures of a junk collection (bottle caps, fake mustaches, stamps, office supplies), telling scary ghost stories... who can resist the magic of a sleepover with your best friend Reggie? Ira Sleeps Over is a timeless and relatively undiscovered jewel of a story that was a favorite of mine when I was a kid and now is a favorite of our three boys almost forty years later. No helicopter parents in this book, but there is the bratty older sibling that a lot of kids have to learn to put up with, plus the great message that it is truly okay to be yourself and that if you feel scared and insecure there's a good chance the other guy or gal feels the same way.

Fun read for 2nd graders
My son selected this book to read for a reading assignment. It was a excellent choice, as he could relate to the story (when children have things they are attached to such a blankets and teddy bears . The theme of the story is comprehendible to young readers and the illustrations are vividly stunning.

Timeless Story
We have been doing FaceTime story time with our granddaughter who lives in another state. This story captured and held her interest the very first time we read it. It is a book she requests regularly and we enjoy reading it to her every time. We enjoyed reading the book with our own children when they were little and the story is still meaningful today. I highly recommend this book.

Best book for kids who have a blankie or stuffed animal they sleep with!
This is one of my favorite books from Childhood. I used to get teased for Sleeping with my Blanket, “are you gonna take that to COLLEGE with you?” This Book helps encourage acceptance and confidence in using a comfort item. Might work TOO well In fact, as I still sleep with my Blanket!!
