LISCIO Crystal Mild Straightening Cream & Neutralizer, 14.1OZ each, Made in Japan

I was a little bit scared because I read a couple other reviews that said hair fell out, etc. I am guessing that those people didn't follow the directions properly and you have to be careful. For starters, you cannot apply the relaxer to dry hair. You have to apply it to wet hair that has excess water removed with a towel. The very first thing you do is get in the shower and shampoo your hair with a moisturizing shampoo and rinse. Skip conditioner. Then towel dry your hair. Cut holes in a plastic bag to cover yourself. Get a pair of gloves and a small comb or brush to help you apply the relaxer. Get a hair clip. Make sure you use a timer (this is critical). Carefully comb out wet hair then take the top half of your hair and pin it on top of your head. Then put the relaxer in a bowl. I am using the mild relaxer because I have color treated hair. I also did not want my hair completely straight but nice smooth waves, but the key is smooth, shiny, healthy hair and this relaxer takes out all the unruly frizzies. I left the relaxer in for 20 minutes including my application time and time to get in the shower and start rinsing. The bottle says up to 30 minutes maximum. I used the comb to apply it 1/2 inch from my scalp and run it to the end of my hair. Then I unclipped the top of my hair and did the same thing. Then I took the extra relaxer with my gloves and rubbed it around in the bottom of my hair away from the scalp. When the timer was at about 19 minutes I headed for the shower. Another thing that is very important is to rinse it out for at least 5 minutes, so I used a timer again in the shower and I continued to rinse it out for 8 minutes just to be safe. After rinsing it out in the shower my hair felt kind of stiff and matted, and this scared me a little bit, but I followed the directions and I put a detangling oil in my hair before trying to comb it, and I had to use a lot of detangling oil. I did not yank or try to force the comb, but used a wide tooth comb and carefully starting at the ends as I worked my way up slowly until I got my hair all combed out. It is important to go slowly and comb it gently when the hair is in this fragile chemically altered state. I then used a blow tryer, and held my hair straight with a comb or brush at the end to blow it straight. I then used my wide barrel curling iron on the hottest settling and I ran it down through my hair the same way you would use a flat iron to get the hair to smooth out all around and I went section by section so this took a long time. This whole process took me at least an hour and at the end my hair was very straight. After it was completely dry I then applied the neutralizer cream all over like shampoo and I really drenched it on and then I clipped my hair on top of my head for at least 5 minutes to let the neutralizer do it's thing. Then I got back in the shower a 3rd time and rinsed out the neutralizer. Then I applied my regular conditioner and rinsed it out will cool water until about 90% of it was rinsed out. I don't like to rinse it all the way out because leaving a little bit in makes my hair easier to comb and healthier. Then I combed out my hair using a detangler oil and I let it dry naturally instead of blow drying it. It dried fairly straight without me doing anything to it. After it was almost dry I styled it like I normally do and I could not believe how smooth and shiny it looked. I have naturally curly hair but the unruly frizzies I normally deal with were gone! I used my curling iron and rollers to create some beautiful wavy hair that is shiny, smooth and all together! I LOVE what this product has done to help me, and my hair be easier to manage and it looks so much more healthy! I will be buying this product again as my hair grows out or if my frizzies come back. WOW!

Type of hair: Wavy, frizzy, fine, dry shoulder length, coloured every few weeks. Used to flat iron straight every day. I've decided to re-write my original review, based on my second experience using the Liscio. My original review was positive, but I was so cautious in using the product because of some of the bad reviews, that I still needed to use a flat iron to straighten out the ends. Not anymore! I first used the Liscio in August 2018, and it worked well - I barely had any frizz and the ends were only slightly wavy. When I used it that time, I didn't use a very high heat for the flat iron part of the process for fear of my hair breaking. 3 weeks ago (January 2019) I decided to apply the Liscio again - this time I used a higher heat for the flat iron step, and I made sure to get my hair really straight - the first time I wasn't as meticulous in this step. The result this time is so much better than the first time. I have not used my flat iron at all. Blow drying my hair gives me stick straight hair. Yes my hair is dry around the front layers and ends, but this is where my hair was already very dry from over straightening it before. I use a bit of coconut oil in damp hair, concentrating on the driest spots and it's fine. Now that I don't need to use a flat iron my hair will improve over time as I cut off the dry ends. For the process itself I applied plenty of the solution with my hands (using gloves). I felt as though I could cover the hair better like this rather than using one of those dye brushes. My hair was dry when I applied this, so I knew that I didn't miss any strands. I left the solution on for about 20 minutes. I rinsed it really well and blow dried roughly. Then used a high heat to flat iron small sections meticulously. I feel as though this is a crucial step, as this is where you are shaping your hair, before neutralising. After straightening, I applied the neutraliser, again using gloved hands, although the neutraliser is more watery than the straightening solution so it's a little harder to use your hands. Left this on for 5 minutes and rinsed very thoroughly again. Blow dried roughly with a brush. My hair was very straight at this point. I left only for 24 hours or so - did not wait 48 hours as recommended. Personally I don't think waiting for 48 hours does anything. The chemicals have already processed your hair. Your hair is not going to get any straighter. But I do think it's good to give your hair a bit of a rest after all the chemical processing, hence my 24 hour wait. Since the straightening, I have coloured my hair and it hasn't affected the straightness at all. I did saturate my hair in coconut oil prior to the colouring (as I only colour the roots) and I think that helped in not drying my hair out further. Some of the reviews on here about hair breaking off really scared me - hence my overly cautious approach the first time. But my hair was fine then and so I was more confident this time. I don't know how anyone's hair can break using the mild version, as my hair was already very processed and dry and I've still had great results with no breakage at all. My only tiny criticism of this product is that the neutraliser is very watery and that makes it hard to apply without it dripping everywhere. But I can live with this, since I've had such great results.

Okay so of course I was completely skeptical when purchasing this product because I am not a licensed professional whatsoever. But I am so happy to say that my hair is almost flawless. The only reason I don't give it a full five stars is because of the split ends it has left me with. Even a trim after the treatment I still see them coming but maybe this will change with time. Regardless, my hair is softer than a babies bottom and perfectly straight. This product has definitely changed my hair I am in love. My hair was not healthy before this treatment. To give a little background I have thin hairs but a lot of them, naturally light brown and my natural texture is pretty wavy with a minimal frizz but nothing like unmanageable curls. About a year and a half ago I got a bayalage and my stylist fried off my hair, it was like spaghetti when wet. Since then I decided to do my hair myself. I have been using a darkest brown box dye on my hair for the passed year to try to get it to grow out. ( I even trim my own hair). I was worried that this product would take out the color but it barely lightened half a shade and that's with box dye. My hair is cut at a very weird V angle and I didn't realize how uneven it was until I did this treatment because it left me with bone straight hair. I have washed it twice and the second time dried even straighter, I have not used a flat iron since this treatment! I don't know how the chemicals work but this stuff is amazing! You have to give it a try. My process: - bought Kenra clarifying shampoo, washed test strand - practiced on test strand on back of head to know how long to keep it on for ( Google YouTube videos it is not that hard knot test or bend test). ~ ACTUAL: - used clarifying shampoo all over hair 2x - wrang out hair so not dripping and broke hair into stronger vs weaker sections, then applied product to stronger sections first (baby hairs last). - kept on for 13-17 min after done applying constantly checking strands for readiness (smell is horrible but it is so worth it! My nostrils seemed a little burnt for the rest of the day, open a window should be fine) - rinsed for at least ten min in shower, make sure product is all out - blow dried till very dry, flat iron with a small comb so it was pin straight - applied neutralizer very quickly and set for 5 min, rinse! Whallah! Beautiful hair. Just be very aware and conscious of time and readiness and you should be fine. I might have even left mine on for a little too long this could be why there is so many split end but if you test it you should be fine! Save yourself 500$ I am so happy I did To keep up I have been using: - Nigel ER shampoo - Liscio crystal treatment - macadamia deep hair mask as a conditioner And sometimes an argan oil. But it is so worth it you have to give it a try

This is the best stuff I have ever used! I have 4c hair and have been natural for 4 years and though I loved it, it became too time consuming. My last wash and go, yet the best wash and go I ever had left me with so many knots that I ended up trimming about 2 inches of my hair. For that reason I was done with the natural. I also realized after much thought in order to get the curls that I wanted anyway (from braid outs, curl rods, pin curls, twist outs and etc.) I still had to braid, twist, roll up my hair whether I was natural or not to get the look - with the hassle included. Now, I don't have the hassle nor the time consumption. Nor do I love myself any less because I'm no longer a natural. If done right (I thermal reconditioned myself and had a professional confirm that my hair is healthy) Liscio Thermal Reconditoner will transform your curl pattern without the harmful effects that are associated with relaxers. I do recommend that if you want to DIY have someone who knows what they are doing to help. The initial process is tedious ( took me 9 hours by myself), however after care is pretty simple. In using Liscio I did do the process a little different. I did not want to completely loose my texture. I was not going for the silky straight look as I love volume, so I under processed my hair and did not do the flat ironing part. When my hair is wet it is almost silky (and easy to manage), but when my hair is dry it is soft and has a slight crinkle to it that leaves me with the volume I like. So I would DEFINITELY recommend! Oh, and did i say I LOVE this stuff! I will show some pics of my hair when I get a chance.

I bought my first Milbon Liscio mild 4 years ago and I just finished the bags yesterday. I have been thermally reconditioning at home for over twelve years. Before this, I was using thermal Ionic. What's great about the Liscio (aside from how amazing it is), is that the bags are sealable. You don't use a lot of product for retouches so this can last you a very long time. If you have highlighted or hair, do not put this on for the same amount of time as your regular hair as the processing times can vary greatly. For example, my virgin hair takes 30 minutes, but my highlighted portions will start to burn in 5. There is a product by Milbon that I strongly suggest to get - it is called Knoteur Zero. It slows the processing speed dramatically and deep conditions the hair. Even if you do not have highlights, the Knoteur Zero can help you out a lot with retouches. Sometimes people will have great results straightening the first time, but rack up damage with each retouch. Instead of damaging your pre-processed hair with overlap, you can treat it to a rich conditioning treatment and come out with your hair looking even healthier than when you started. I have fine hair but a lot of it. It is wavy in spots, hard to style and frizzy all over. My natural hair actually looks damaged, and this makes it look and feel healthy. This does not make your hair pin straight like it was when I used to get this done at the salon years ago. It still has movement and shine (which my natural hair does not have), and it takes away the frizz. I can still coax out my natural waves if I want them. My hair is low to no maintenance with this - wash and go. I will keep using this as long as they make it.

Ok, so I added a lot of pictures so you can see the various states of my hair durring and after the process. So I have very coily 4c hair. Its gotten quite long so it became a hassle detangling and styling and I was loosing a lot of hair each wash day from detangling alone. I also couldn't really wear my hair straight for more than a day because I sweat in my scalp and I excersize so my roots would revert and tangle up. As well, if there was even a drop of humidity in the air my hair would frizz back up. When I would wear it in a fro, it would tangle up so badly that I would just wear protective styles so I wouldn't have to deal with it. I've always wanted long hair, but not if I had to hide it because it's so difficult to manage. I've done a lot of research on Liscio Japanese thermals and approached this process very delicately. I have fine strands so I opted for mild because I knew my hair would process very quickly. I only let the chemical sit on my hair for just over 20 minutes because I didn't want to over process and was left with a great result. Not bone straight, but I think that is better because once I get new growth the teo textures will blend more easily and not be prone to breakage. As well, I still have a "natural" look, meaning my hair doesn't really looked processed and I can wear it in a blow out if I choose to. Wash days are soooo much easier and I barely loose any hair from detangling now. It takes me about 20 minutes to flat iron and it's amazing. My styling time has been cut down drastically. If you do your research, this can be great for people who want to be able to manage their hair better while it still remaining healthy. Just research research research and make sure to wash after 3 days of oxidation. Would definitely recommend. You can definitely get a straighter result than I did if you want bit if you're doing this by yourself I wouldn't go much straighter than this.

It burned my hair (only the ends though), I had to cut it off. Be careful, your hair has to be really really healthy in order to use this product, otherwise you’ll end with fried hair (in my case fried ends) I left it work for 30min, my hair is not straight at all which is disappointed because my hair is not even curly just wavy.

My hair has never been colored and has never been treated by any chemicals but was still an eyesore no matter what i did. I couldn’t find a stylist to do Liscio for me so ordered the mild as I was afraid to damage my hair even though mild is meant for already damaged hair and normal is more suited for my hair type. I do have very thin hair so was worried about it being too flat but figured I had nothing to lose as it had been weeks since I had experienced a good hair day which allowed me to feel confident. I left the straightening cream on my hair for the maximum amount of time 30 minutes because according to the strand test my hair was not processing (next time I’ll have a friend flat iron my hair for me as it is such a nightmare I never get it pin straight at my roots there are always bumps) . My hair is still textured in most parts but more relaxed and smooth because again my hair had zero damage and I used the mild. There are a lot of flaws that a lot of girls would probably notice: it’s straight in some spots and wavy/kinky in other. But me, I’m glad I kept my texture and my curl. My hair looks almost thick instead of thin, and the curls are loose.. less like angora sheep and more like a sexy goddess. I’m not just pleased I am overjoyed to have a low maintenance head of hair that allows me to feel more beautiful after spending 10 seconds brushing it than my natural hair allowed me to feel after spending 45 minutes styling it. Yay!
