I use this to skip ahead through ads when I listen to podcasts. I've only had it a few days, but this works perfectly! Connects to my phone quickly, automatically puts itself to sleep to save battery, rechargeable- it has all the features I was looking for but had trouble finding in other products that require assistive touch or coin batteries.

I just bought this so I can't speak about longevity but I wanted to share information I wish I could have found more easily before buying! I'm on a Pixel 9, so this pertains to Android. - Connects as an input device. It does not interfere with your earbuds connection, and controls on your earbuds will also still work. You might need to click an option on-screen to tell Android you want to see the on-screen keyboard even though you have an input device connected. No big deal. - There's a button at the top of the device you hold to pair. If you single tap it the camera app opens, and then pressing the volume buttons take photos. - Holding the play/pause button requests the assistant (e.g. Google Gemini) when your phone is unlocked and when it's locked, though you have to enable that in the assistant settings - that's normal android stuff. - Play/Pause, volume up/down, next/prev track all seem to work as you'd expect. In addition, at least on Play Music, holding the next/prev track buttons performs a short seek forwards or backwards. - If you have Personal Safety set up on your phone to handle an emergency when you press the phone power button 5 times, be aware that pressing the pairing button on this controller 5 times (6 if it needs to reconnect first) will do the same thing. I didn't know this originally, and ended up calling 911 while I was just trying to reactivate this buttons. Oops! - It's a good size for fitting inside a glove or just holding so you don't have to mess with your earbud controls constantly. - Yes, it's hard to see except in good light. Recoil seems to have other models with different color schemes but Amazon doesn't seem to stock them yet. I will probably add some white paint on mine. - It does have a USB mini slot for charging, USB C would have been much nicer. - Haven't tried mounting it, won't be using it like that personally. All in all, an excellent solution for people who like to walk/hike/bike/skate/skii. Update after a week of use: - The fact that it's round makes it incredibly difficult to know what buttons you're pressing if you have this inside a glove in the cold. I may have to modify mine. The manufacturer should include a case to add some easy to hold and identify orientation shape to this. - I wish there was protection against holding the volume up button. Because I couldn't tell which button was under my thumb inside my glove I held volume up instead of the assistant button and blew my ears out. That's bad, especially since the buttons are right next to each other. There's no reason you'd need to hold volume up, that should be disabled by the manufacturer. - It really is brutally hard to see the button graphics in dim light. - I haven't experienced any of the battery life issues some reviewers talk about, and I wonder if they had a stuck button preventing the device from sleeping.

Edit: Turns out it needs a periodic repairing randomly. Pressing the pair button reconnects it to my already paired phone. No other button will respond when it gets into this state. Customer service was quick to offer a full refund after my original review below so kudos to them. Fortunately I realized the issue bedside accepting. Original review: Stopped working after only a few months. It worked good when it did. Wasn’t always the fastest to respond if it went into sleep mode, which sometimes resulted in extra button presses when thinking it hadn’t woken up yet. Now it doesn’t respond to button presses at all.

I ski every Saturday and Sunday and when I found this device I thought I had found a huge improvement to my life. It allows me to change songs without removing my hands from my gloves and turn the volume up and down while skiing. I keep it in my glove with my hand, so it's plenty warm. The first time I took it out, it lasted all day, about 6 hours. I took it home and charged it. The next day, it lasted 4 hours. Not great, but maybe I didn't plug it in all the way. Then is lasted 2 then 1, now it won't turn on. The light only comes on when I plug it into the charger. I am very careful with my rechargeable batteries, never charged it using a car charger, also used a trickle charger, but it won't turn on and I am past the Amazon return window. I emailed the company directly a few days ago, but never got a response. I would love for this to work because it was so nice on the days that it did. Update (5/19/2024): after leaving the previous review the company contacted me and sent me a replacement. It does appear to be a used or “second” replacement, but it works great and I am very happy with it. Despite my issue I still recommend it as the best way to control your music while skiing/snowboarding/biking/riding/etc. I recommend this to everyone I know that does any sort of outdoor activity. Even though I have an Apple Watch, this is a far superior method of controlling music because of the physical buttons.

I wanted to like this so much, but it has some major flaws that render it useless. First the good: 1. The design look and feel is great. 2. Buttons have a gently click when pressed 3. I initial connection was fast and paired first time 4. Supposedly waterproof (bought for use around the pool). Didnt get to test this out though Now the bad: 2. Once you click it into the holder, there are no directions on how to remove it. Almost broke the thing trying to get it out. 3. The band only works small diameter handlebars. Would be a great option to include a wrist band as it is about the size of a watch. 4. I was so excited to use this around the piol and connected it to my phone which is connected to my sound system. I first tested the unit right in front of me and worked flawlessly. I stepped about 5' away and pressed the volume up button and the volume shot all the way to max. I was lucky not to blow the speakers. Thought this was an accident, but happens consistently when you get more than a few feet away. For this alone, they should pull this product off the shelf for safety concerns. Thank goodness I didnt have earbuds in, i would have lost my hearing for sure. This is an absolute dealbreaker and sad to say, but it's heading back to the manufacturer.

You have to twist the device off of the strap or take the strap completely off the handlebars in order to charge the device. Battery is limited to 8 hours or less on full charge. This means you are routinely taking it off the bike to charge and the mounting components are suspect so probably won’t last long. They should have placed the charging port on the side so you can charge it without having to remove it every time. What a pain. Would also be nice to have a usb-c charging port. Please make an improved version with the charging port on the side.

I've been using this to adjust audio volume or change tracks in one earbud that I wear while riding a moped, e-scooter, or bicycle. I've left this outside in the rain (with the charging port covered and facing down toward the ground) for several weeks now and it shows no signs of damage. The device quickly reconnects to my phone after pressing one button to wake it up and then I can adjust volume, pause the current media, or skip ahead or go backwards with the buttons. Buttons are large, easy to press, and clearly visible so I am able to use them without looking directly at the device while in motion. The items seems well built and was prices appropriately for the functionality. I would definitely buy this again if I need another one.

Works incredible. Used high strength Velcro to hold it in place on my Seadoo. The included strap would work amazingly, I just couldn’t fit it.

It uses an old micro-USB port for charging, which is a pain. And the markings on the remote control are poorly visible. But the remote control itself appears to work well. However, be warned that it works with volume in all instances but the pause, stop, play functions only work with media & music players, not with content being streamed from within a web page (such as youtube).

Works well enough. I recommend getting some white paint for the buttons. If you try and remove the clip once, it will never go back on correctly. I have to tape it together now.
