Still Pretty.
This was a fabulous fragrance when it came on the scene in the early 70โs. However, since then, other companies created cheaper versions under different names, so that decades later, it just smells like a drugstore brand. I paid an exorbitant amount so Iโm keeping it and will use it as an everyday scent.

Just as I remembered
Had not found this fragrance in years...but to be honest I hadn't really looked. Was glad to find it on Amazon and am not disappointed. Would recommend to anyone who remembers this light scent or who wants to try a 'new' fragrance that isn't overpowering. It will seem a little strong when you first spray it on, but soon lessens then stays for hours.

This is not a fragrance!
I rarely review a product & when I do it is positive. There is a first time for everything. This product was beyond horrible. I was thrilled to find it again as it was always my scent until it disappeared. The original vintage 1970 formula has been radically changed. There was no scent at all except alcohol and something that smelled liked bug spray! I wasted almost $80 on this. I do not understand why YSL canโt just recreate the original formula which is so perfect & beloved. I gave this 1 star because it was required. Do NOT waste your money on this garbage.

Not the Same as the Original in Opening Note
If you have a bottle of Rive Gauche from the 70's or 80's and you put this new "re-formulated" version on, you will immediately notice that the opening blast is missing from the remake. I'm assuming that is because that it is now impossible to source the ingredients to replicate the opening strong entrance of this iconic fragrance. Having said that, the dry down is indistinguishable in my experience from the original, and I haven't seen a significant/noteworthy difference in longevity either. So, good news for those of us who still love this fragrance. Bad news for those who remember the original and wish that this new (now only available) version were identical in every way. I still have a bottle of the original, and lament the loss (reason for 4 stars above), but at least I can still enjoy the fragrance which was done pretty well in all other respects (just a miss on the opening note).
