I LOVE this product! It truly is a game changer! I must admit, I was a bit sceptical given some of the ratings especially for the price of the unit and crystalized litter. The truth is that it is the easiest product to use and it does last pretty close to a month for us, mainly because we have a kitten who loves his high protein food. I've now introduced dry food so I expect it to last even longer. The other factor is that our little one used it right away...just still really curious when it's in motion...pretty cute! In my opinion, the cover completes it and makes it easier for the kitten to keep the litter in the box! It's was difficult for him prior to this system. With so much litter on the floor, I had to sweep daily. Not anymore! I also purchased the lavender scent for me because I love lavender. Scented or not, it does an amazing job as I no longer have to deal with the smell or the nasty cleaning! Hats off to the manufacturer for providing us cat lovers with such an efficient and effective litter system. If you're on the fence, just go for it and ignore all of the negative comments. It will remove the daily stress and it will certainly be worth every penny!!!

I never wanted a cat because I can't stand the smell of a litter box and didn't want one in my home. Tge electronic litter box and the cover solved this issue. I keep it on my balcony and the kitty has her own little outhouse! No one who cones into my apartment ever imagines I have a cat - because there is nooooo smell. The cover is made for the electronic part and trays below- and it all works perfectly together. Even when it rains, the cover protects the inside. Let's just say this - if I didn't have this cover and the Petraeus electronic litter box- I wouldn't have a cat! So Mandi, my cat, gives many thanks... and meows... for this product!

First, crystal litter is the best I've used. All other litters track more and create much more dust. Note that I have tried all litter incuding Worlds best cat litter ect. So, I was looking for an automatic litter box that could use crystal litter. Since I had a gift certificate, I figured I would try this box. After two months I am still not disappointed. The engineering and design are excellent. You replace the entire bottom of the litter box, which is made out of cardboard, every time you change the litter. No mess or cleaning of the mechanism necessary. I know that there have been complaints about soggy cartridges. Well, my cartidges have a thin sheet of plastic on the bottom (they all do now). This has the dual effect of helping the mechanism slide and preventing my cat, who is a digger, from tearing through the bottom of the litter box. My cat loves to drink, pee and dig and I have not had any soggy litter box problem. In addition, the rake goes in both directions which insures an even spread of litter. Although the cartidges my be pricey, I feel they are well worth it. I change a cartidge every two weeks. In addition, I got the hood which fits great and helps reduce litter spreading.

I wanted to like this hood, but one of my two cats is so averse to it that he refuses to use the box if it's on. It seems like he's obsessed with the reflection on it from the outside, so I'm not sure if that's why he's weirded out, or maybe he just really hates being enclosed. I got this to replace the top-entry lid that came with my box, because my one cat seemed to be REALLY stressed out by that, and it does fit right. My other cat had no issue with the top-entry and has no issue with the front entry. This product is quite worth the purchase if your cat isn't afraid of it. It nicely contains the litter - instead of my cats jumping out whatever side of the box, they had to use the entry. It also helps somewhat contain stench, but poop is always gonna smell like poop.

I bought this for the litter box I got at my local pet store. They didn’t have it in stock, nor could they order it. Since I have boy cats, they like to fling the litter all over the place. This hood fit perfectly on the Petsafe Scoopfree from the store, and it contains the joyful flings. Also had to get a replacement as the first hood came broken during shipping. Of course, Amazon replaced it for free. That’s why I love Amazon, they always make it right! So five stars for the hood, because it does what it’s supposed to, and to Amazon for being amazing as always.

So far with a 3 1/2 month old cat this cover keeps the litter inside the box. I imagine the lid also helps keep smells from drifting out but really don't have much to compare it to since all my boxes have had covers. The litter and the raking of the box also play a part in odor management so between this cover and the automated raking the litter box does keep it smells down. Update: 17 pound 18 month old cat The cover makes using the box a little tight but Neo has never known another litter box so he just does his business and gets out. No issues so far and as mentioned before; no real smells drifting out of the box unless someone forgets to change the litter.

I purchased this I. The hopes that it would prevent my cat's scattering litter everywhere. It does seem to help some, but not a great deal. Probably the cat's fault. The one complaint I have about the actual product is that it constantly scoots forward and interferes with the hood of the automatic litter box, causing it to stay open, so several times a week I have to push the thing back and close the hood. Not a huge deal, but a bit annoying.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Fit over my litterbox and keeps the litter from being flung out. Helps my cats feel less exposed and more inclined to use the automatic litterbox.

This lid for the automatic cat litter cleaner is just the thing! The cat can scratch the litter and fling it about, but it doesn't escape from the box. Easy to put on. Great accessory!!
