Comfortable, good compression for my old legs. And they stay in place all day.

I use these in an unorthodox way. I work outside all year round in the northeast. Lately it has become difficult to find good quality thick wool socks. The kind of socks that will keep my feet warm while standing in slush as I work on something. A friend told me that if you wear dress socks under winter socks it helps to keep your feet warm. What do you know he was right. These make a huge difference. These as the base layer, merino wool socks then work boots, and because they come up to my knee they help under my long johns. They are thin enough to not add any noticeable thickness.

I am a lifelong GOLD TOE fan. I bought these higher socks for cold season warmth (that little extra) and to eliminate the lines that crew socks cause on my calves. These socks are comfortable, well made, professional looking, and durable. They do offer just a little extra warmth when its cool out, and they do not leave lines on my calves. I don't recommend them for hot summer days. I WILL buy them again.

I have found dress socks either fall into a heap around the ankle as the day progresses, or they strangle my calf where the elastic tightens mid-way up it. So, I took a shot on these hoping the elastic would be high enough above the calf to stay where they belong without the discomfort. What a perfect solution! These are a joy to wear. Very comfortable, and they stay right where you put them in the morning - no matter how long I wear them. And, no ring around the calf when I take them off. When I first put them on, they feel a little confining because I am not used to wearing a sock so high up on my leg. But, in a few minutes I forget I have them on and, unlike the tight around the mid-calf socks that I cannot wait to get out of in the evening, I can wear them with comfort as long as the day stretches.

I wear gold toe socks with my sport shoes and hiking boots. I wanted a different style to wear with my dress shoes. When I wore suits daily, I always wore over the calf socks like these. The mercerized cotton gives a finer, smoother look appropriate to wear with a suit or even dress trousers. One caution - based on my height and weight (which Amazon remembers from other transactions, it wanted to recommend the regular size although my shoe size is 13 or 14 depending on the style and the shoe manufacturer. I bought the larger size against their recommendation and I am glad that I did.

Fit well and stay up. Time will tell.

Very comfortable socks. More for dress than for warmth. They are not very thick. They are still warm though, and they are quite snug. Like I said, more of a dress sock for wear with dress shoes. I've been looking for a decent pair of knee-high socks for some time. Mid-calf length crew socks are useless inside winter boots. These are just the ticket. Great quality. Well worth the price.

Feel of the socks is really good and does the job. Remember one thing, if you are used to wearing slim fit pants and have thick calves, the pants are going to be pulled up due to snugged fit with the socks. Socks work amazingly with full cut pants or regular cut pants.

Good quality and long lasting socks. I personally prefer long socks and these are the best dress socks on the market. All Gold Toe socks are excellent though.
