Lanyarco Recliner Handle Chair Release Lever Replacement Plastic Handle (6mm) Without Cable

I’ve given this part 3 tries. The first one lasted 4 months, the second lasted one month, and the last 3 weeks. I’m never buying another one of these plastic pieces of garbage. I’m getting a metal one next.

I bought this to replace the lever on my Basset brand sofa. It fit perfectly. It was extremely easy to install. For some reason, it even seems to work smoother than the original. I couldn't be happier with it. It doesn't come with installation instructions. So, here's a quick HOWTO... There are 2 screws that hold the "cup" to the furniture. To see them, pull the lever out (as to trigger the recliner). This will expose one on the bottom and one on the top inside of the cupped housing. Removing the screws is easy. After removing the broken unit, there will be a U shaped metal clip that secures the cable to the lever. Gently pry under the 2 free ends of the clip (opposite end from the cable) with flat head screw driver or something similar to remove the clip. The cable will then slide 90 degrees from its final position. This will position the cable so that a small barrel shaped on the end and slot for cable will lift out easily. Now you are ready to replace the broken unit with the new unit. Assembly is the reverse. It's not difficult, but just a little tricky.to get the cable back into the new unit. I accidentally let the cable fall from my hand and it went inside the sofa. I was nervous that I'd have a hard time reaching in the small hole to retrieve it. Turns out, it wasn't difficult. However, I might have just been lucky that the cable didn't fall out of reach. I suggest you be more careful and hang onto it so that you don't drop the cable into the sofa and end up with it out of reach. Maybe get a second person to just hold the cable while you work to assemble the cable to the new unit. Be sure not to put too much pressure on the U-shaped retainer clip while removing it so that it retains its shape.

Not much more to say. I purchased the handle in March and today on Nov 5th it broke. Same year! The worst part is that I have to sit with my feet down tonight.

Only negative would be that it didn't come in brown, but black works so no big deal.One thing to keep in mind, this did not come with a screw to secure it to the chair itself so make sure to keep the old one if you can. However, finding one that works, pretty much a normal wood screw, shouldn't be an issue...just a time-saver to save the old one if possible.

I installed this on September 5th. and had to order a replacement on October 19. The other one I bought was $6 more, but made out of metal. It is very solid. Worked fine on my couch which is around 7 years old now. Last time I replaced the entire cord, but this end piece is all that was necessary. The install is simple enough. 2 screws hold the latch to the chair, and the latch comes off the cable with a bit of tinkering. There is a little piece that holds the cable to the latch which I am not sure is necessary. All in all thos fixed my chair in about 10 minutes with little effort.

Love the fact that we found it on Amazon. It was a very good price and easy to install, only took minutes. Very happy!

Not sure if these are just cheaply made or this is a faulty one, but snapped within 2 months of use.
