Purina DentaLife Daily Oral Care Mini Dog Treats - 24 ct. Pouch

Well to start, I gave Flavor and Scent 5 Stars. It’s a guess. I did NOT eat one and they don’t smell “bad” but dogs lick their butts so the scale is warped. I’ve been giving these to my dog since age 2. He’s 5.5 now. He’s got early dental buildup and mild breath odor. These have almost completely reversed both. I know from my cats what can happen. So... They get the Dentalife Cat product and Theo gets these. They really help keep teeth clean and are a HUGE joy for them to get. Because of Covid-19, Chewy.com is out of the multi-packs I usually get. Those are best value. . Amazon as always, has them. I’ve got them on subscription now for good. He’s SO “programmed” that at 10:30-10:35 every night, even if he’s asleep, he comes and finds me to get him his “toothbrush” (that’s what he and I call them). Thanks Purina for great pet products. Dentalife Sticks are best and most natural/affordable oral care out there.

Maybe it's me but these dental treats seem to be going up in price lately. This deal - 2 packs - was a good price. I have three dogs so I go through treats. They like them and I get to indulge my dogs so it's a win - win. They are just the right size and easy for them to chew. Some of the dental bones on the market are really hard and I worry about them being able to digest them. When I go into the kitchen and open the bag, all three come running. They are just the right size for a mid-afternoon treat or a treat before bedtime. Update: I have two dogs now so they are really, really spoiled. These treats are low in protein which is terrific for my two guys with kidney issues. They are not allowed the standard beef/bacon treats. Also, they are textured enough to give them some roughage since they are on a kidney diet which is soft food. My vet was happy that they are interested in them so I give them to them as a reward for just being cute, etc. If my dogs don't eat these then I know they are not feeling good - but - I love that all I have to say is "biscuit" and they coming running in from the yard. These are not for everyone, but they work for me. I have included pictures for reference - my dogs are 13 years old. Whatever it takes to keep them happy, healthy and eating - mommy and daddy will do it.

Both of my dogs love this treat and it does a good job of keeping their teeth clean. I order these every two weeks, and I have been buying them for over a year. I am disappointed however, because the treats are much smaller than my past orders. I double checked the bag to make sure I ordered the same item, and they were identical. I had one treat left in my treat jar and compared it to the ones in the new bag I just purchased. The new ones are so much smaller. I feel cheated. It wasn’t just slightly smaller, it was significantly smaller. I almost feel that I need to now buy the medium size rather than the mini in order to keep their teeth clean.

I noticed that my dog's (3 large 4 legged children) teeth weren't as white as before. They use to chew the branches that fell off the trees but these last few years the ants have been ridiculous. So I tried these and they work. I didn't track how long it took but when I did check, especially the back teeth, I could see a definite difference for the better. Dog breath is better than before too. Smaller than I thought but my dogs are bigger so they get 2 instead of 1. It's not their snack, they get 2 each about once sometimes twice a week.

These work really well and are a reasonable price on here. My dog likes them although she doesn't go crazy for them. But she's 15 years old and the vet will no longer clean her tooth since it would require anesthesia, which is a little dangerous in elderly dogs. She had really, really terrible breath and I could smell her several feet away. It was awful. But I've been giving her 1-2 of these every day and her bad breath is gone. It's really pretty amazing. Sometimes I'll forget to give her these for a few days and the bad smell comes back. The package always arrives on time and with no issues.

Our 2 small dogs know exactly when it's "dental hygiene" time an hour after dinner and position themselves in their usual places to receive it. They seem to consider it the ultimate treat, while we notice the more healthy appearance of teeth and gums. For us they are a little pricey, but we'll worth the price.

I have to give one of my dogs meds every AM and PM. Two of those are chews and he turns his nose up at them. So, we wrap them in deli meat and he gulps them down. He then goes bonkers till he gets his "treat", which is the DentaLife chew. For a dog that won't eat two other smelly chews he grabs this one and hides so no one can take it while he devours it. Of course, our other dog doesn't need meds but she has to have a treat too. So, multiply the bonkers x 2 for this treat. They smell pretty bad, so do the treats (but so do most dog treats - it's not really a problem).
