I bought this to put cat litter in because I have a automatic litter box and I need to scoop litter to put in it. This is the perfect size for that and is made of thick quality plastic. It is portable due to its small size and has a easy to open lid . It is sturdy enough that it can be stacked on top of something else if needed. It was a fair price for the storage container. It would also be good for storing dog or cat food for a small dog or cat also.

Holds 20 lbs of small breed puppy food nicely. The scoop is huge! I use it for gardening.

Works well to keep smart dog that can open buckets from over eating! The lid lock stays in place. Rolls around easily. Quality is ok. It is a container you could keep inside your home if needed. I bought it because my smart doodle figured out how to turn the gamma lids on his food! He could probably break this because it is not strong plastic, but so far so good!

Have had this container for about 2 weeks & am very happy with it keeping the food fresh. Do as the others have suggested & keep the pet food in the original bag - that way the interior stays clean & no accumulation of oils in container. I did feel the container was a bit pricey so I just ordered one when I really need 2 more. I remembered seeing pet food containers at the Wal Martians & thinking they were about sixteen dollars. Went back there & looked at their pet containers, they had a different brand, one with a blue lid & compared to IRIS brand, theirs had a flimsy lid & several reviews said the lid was not air tight. That was enough for me to come back to Amazon & put in an order for another IRIS container. I intend to purchase another one in the coming weeks. Upon arrival of my IRIS, I was totally disappointed because I did not think an 18 pound bag of food would fit in there. Well, it was a tight squeeze since I just left the food in the bag & stuffed it in there. But the lid snapped easily & it has been on the back porch where ants are abundant, but so far no ants or other critters have been seen in the container. Another thing, they are compact & don't take up much room - taller & slim, rather than being wide & short. Update on the Iris containers - It has been a couple of months & I now have 3 of these containers, one for cat food, one for dog food & one for bird seed. The containers are still air tight & no bugs or staleness of stored product has occured. I believe they come in different sizes for larger bags for whatever you are wanting to store. Don't settle for second best at the Wal Martians, you will be disappointed.

Fits: -16 lb bag Friskies Seafood, or - 25 lb bag Costco Maintenance Cat, ... both in their original bags. (Someone said it does NOT fit the 22 lb bag of Friskies, which I would believe, but I haven't tried.) This smoke-colored 28-qt "up to 22 lbs" bin is attractive and functional. I needed bug-proof cat food storage, (to leave in an outdoor shed) that was easy for others to use when I go on vacation. I like this bin better than the two Vittles Vault bins I tried. The Vittles Vault is supposed to be uniquely airtight, but I found that water would trickle out through the threads unless I *really* tightened the lid super hard, so hard that it defeated the purpose of having an easy to open and use cat food storage bin, for my vacation cat feeders. Because cat food is so greasy, I put the bag itself in the bin, to keep from developing a rancid biofilm on the inside - haha. I also think the bag might keep the food a little fresher; I don't think the gasket keeps the bin 100% airtight. Easily fits my usual 16 lb bag of Friskies "Seafood" flavor. It also fit an unopened 25 lb bag of Costco's "Maintenance Cat" food, but just barely. (It takes a trick. I upend the bag so I can put the empty end of the bag in first, and let the kibbles fill into the shape of the storage bin, as the bag settles. It doesn't work to just drop an unopened bag of cat food in, because it usually bulges the sides of the bin out, which deforms the seal with the lid.) When I go on vacation, I leave this cat food bin in my open air shed for my neighbors to feed my outdoor-only feral cats. I roll up the bag tightly, inside the bin, to reduce smells that might attract insects or animals (and to keep the food fresher). Sadly, the trio of juvenile racoons that make nightly rounds, routinely got into the food by knocking the bin over. The latch itself is certainly not strong enough to prevent raccoon entry. So sadly, I'll have to come up with some way to keep the racoons out next vacation: Pile bricks on the lid? Strap encircling the bin? Secure the bin with heavy objects that prevent it from being rolled around or knocked over? I still think there's no other pet food storage bin that is as pest-proof and convenient to use as this one.

Nice container. As others have noted, it takes a 13lb bag of dog food with room to spare for the scoop. This also easier to store than a bag filled at various levels and is less prone to inadvertent spills when handling a bag. The design efficiently uses space, which really helps in a condo where we don't have a lot of storage space. Excellent quality for the price. Recommended!

I’ve purchased the larger version of this container in the past and loved it, but my current space required downsizing to this smaller model. While I definitely miss the wheels that the larger version offers for easy moving, the quality of the build remains excellent. The seal provides a very satisfying click that lets me know my dog’s food is staying fresh and protected. It is a sturdy, reliable storage solution that keeps my best friend's meals crisp and my kitchen organized.

Wonderful product. Seal is great, holds the large bag of dog food no problem. I bought this to store our dog's food, my biggest concern was being able to smell the dog food, as it is not in a cupboard. The seal is really tight, we cannot smell a thing until it is opened. Very happy with this purchase. The wheels are able to sustain the weight of a full bag, and the container with no issue. The lid will sometimes pop off, but that is not a design flaw, it is on a hinge system, which allows you to remove (probably to clean).
