The best affordable headset I've found for swimming
This is my second one of these, the first one lasted a couple of years and then the wires to the ear buds started wearing out and I lost sound to the left ear. But still, a couple of years of swimming 1-3x/week is a good run for a headset, so I bought a second one. The earbuds on this model have been improved over the first one so they fit better and it's easier to keep the water out. Battery life is great, I only have to charge it like once a month for around 10 hours of play time (at least). I once tried a bluetooth headset for swimming and rapidly found out that they work poorly in the water because it interferes with the bluetooth signal, so the MP3 player style like this one was a must. The MP3 player is very easy to use -- just plug it into USB like a memory stick and drag and drop. The one thing to watch out for is that the ear bud covers can slip off, especially if you use it in the pool where everything is wet. I recommend gluing them on once you find out which size works best for you. I did that with my first one and they were great after that. I didn't do it quickly enough on this one, and lost one of the covers nearly immediately, but I wrote to the company and they provided excellent customer service and are sending me new ones. Overall it's much better to swim with tunes than without, and I'm happy that this headset lets me do that with a minimum of hassle and expense.

Loved it ... but 2 of them have failed after a few months each
This player was amazing at first ... easy to wear in the pool, simple to use, long battery life, great sound even underwater. But after a few months it seemed to develop a loose connection. The sound would cut out, sometimes entirely or sometimes only on 1 side. Wiggling / re-seating the player sometimes could temporarily fix it but it would happen again soon. It was difficult to contact Tayogo, but eventually I got in touch with them and they sent me a new player. Great! I figured I just got a bad one. I used the new one for a couple of months and it worked fine ... then one day when I went to load more music on it, the USB connector physically snapped off. As much as I love the design and sound of this player, I have to conclude it's basically a piece of junk. This is not a quality item. There are a number of waterproof mp3 players that cost substantially more than this one, and I guess there is a reason for that. If you want one that lasts more than 2 or 3 months you might have to shell out for one that's better made.

So far so good!!
I have used a different brand waterproof MP3 player over the last few years. It always crapped out at about a year. Then we bought another one. Decided to try something new. PROS - The price was good. Like the design. It seems very sturdy. Loading music was very easy. Battery seems to last. I found the sound very good especially considering I'm swimming. CONS - The unit might be a little tight around the head for a man, but works great for me. When I use the steam room, I put the headpiece around my neck so my head can rest flat. Still figuring out how to position the ear plugs provided for water. They seem to move around. This may be a learning curve for me. OVERALL, I'm very happy with my new unit. (FYI - I'm doing a review to get a bonus year's warranty from the company. That being said, I wouldn't write the review until I had used it and was going to be honest.)

Great for lap swimming
I have been using the product for about 10 months. I gave it a five star based on the overall function, quality/price, replacement/customer service. I am a long distance lap swimmer, 3-5 times/week, typicallly 1.25 mile each time. I really enjoy the music while swimming since you can downloand the songs you like into the USB and procedure is simple and easy. However, I got frustrated since the left wire lost the sound after about 3-4 months. I contacted the seller, they shipped me a replacement frame, which did not help the situation, then they shipped me a whole unit for replacement which last until now. The device stays secure on my head and ears in the water; it makes me enjoy my favorite music, at the same time it makes my tedious lap swimming seems so much shorter. The only shortcoming is the part of the wires which connects to the plastic frame is the vulnerable place to break, I try not to put it in the gym bag, but rather hang the device on my neck, and wash it after each use. Overall, based on the design, the great fun it has provided to me, the price, and the good customer service (one year warranty), this device is highly recommended for any swimming enthusiasts.

Review UPDATE
I just tried these out today and they were great! The sound was good and they added motivation to my swim. I'm not a vigorous swimmer, but they did get wet and were fine. When I first put them on I wasn't getting sound in the right ear, but I wiggled it a little and it started, and never cut out again. Downloading music was easy - just drag and drop. I can't figure out how to order the songs like a playlist, though (don't know if there is even that option for that). I would definitely recommend these (and already have!). (June 7) I am changing my review to 1 star - would do ZERO if I could. I returned my first pair after 2 uses because the right ear kept cutting out. I though I better return while could. The next pair I got had issues with the right ear as well, and in addition would just stop playing and have to be reset every time it got to a certain song. :( I should have known that $50 was too good to be true. My friend ordered a pair, also, and she is returning hers Monday because they stopped working on the first outting. I give 5 stars to Amazon - they overnighted the second pair with no shipping cost and are also waiving the shipping for the waterproof iPod that I ordered today.

The on / off function is beyond my comprehension apparently
I swim for an hour twice a week. I charge the device for at least 8 - 12 hours the night before and take it to work in the morning. However, it is not uncommon for the player to die on me after 20 to 30 minutes. I was very frustrated because I couldn't figure out how to be sure it is off. I read the manual (which tells you this is a counterintuitive device... it is an MP3 player / USB drive... should I really need a manual?) I realized what I thought was the on/off switch was the Reset button... I read that the device is powered on and off by holding the play/pause button for 5 seconds. Ok, I thought I have been doing it wrong... my fault. Well after 2 sessions of following the directions the battery is still dying on me. I can only assume that this means the device is using power while I think it is off... There should be a dedicated power button that is clearly on or off... Other than the above I really like the device. It is a waterproof MP3 player for a great price, if I could just figure out how to make sure it is off, I would be thrilled with it. I fully submerge it in a lap pool and a jacuzzi.

Great gear, stellar customer service
I swim every day, and this Tayogo player is always with me. It's probably been in the water 200 hours, and it still looks and works(ed) as new (more on that, below). It's a pretty ingenious design, the way the player pops out of the headset; just plug it like a flash drive and load it up with tunes. Battery-life is at phenomenal, too; at least 10 hours, in my experience. I've had some really expensive underwater players, and none of them has lasted more than a couple of months, but I've had this one a year with absolutely no problems. That is, until last week, when the right-side audio wire to the earbud broke, inside the insulation. I emailed Tayogo, thru Amazon, and immediately got a reply from Jason who promised to have a new unit sent out to me, no charge! I received it within a week, and it's even an improved model, with sturdier insulation at those weak points, and better-shaped earbuds. And a 2-year warranty; who does that? Way to go, Tayogo -- I'm a customer for life. Don't change your design, either -- it's perfect! ********************** Just bought my third Tayogo player, and I still love them. They're in the pool every day, and they last about 2 years. I've never had one fail for electronic reasons -- I actually still have all three snap-in player components. What tends to give way through constant brushing and yanking are the earbud wire connections. But if you're swimming laps freestyle, then your shoulders are constantly rubbing your ears; time and wear take a toll. Thank you, Tayogo; I will buy more!

Great for tunes while swimming laps
I recently began swimming laps for exercise. I have always listened to music when working out and was frustrated by the need to leave my usual earbuds in my gym bag while in the pool. This MP3 player solves that problem. At first I thought waterproof bluetooth earbuds would be the best choice for me but it turns out bluetooth doesn't transmit well under water. I gave this MP3 player a try and am very happy with it. The sound quality from it while in the water is not as good as what you'd get from high quality non-waterproof earbuds but it is still pretty good- amazing considering The MP3 player pops out of the back of the headband and then plugs into a USB port to be loaded. Loading it with music just required dragging and dropping the songs I wanted onto the icon for the MP3 player. I swim 45-60 minutes per day, 5-6 days/week and have gone 2-3 weeks without charging this. I've never had the battery die on it so I don't know how many hours of play you could get out of it before needing to charge it. I have a fairly big head but this fits comfortably. It does not interfere with the straps for my goggles and controlling it while wearing it is easy as the volume, pause/play, and rewind/fast forward buttons are intuitively placed. The earbuds do get a bit warm in your ears while using this, but not uncomfortably so. The wire from the headband to the earbuds does seem somewhat fragile, so I am careful about never pulling the headband off my head by the wires or pulling the earbuds out of my ears by the wires. I know others reviewing this have found those wires to be a failure point. I'll update this review if that is ever an issue for me.

Man(n) verschenkt ja keinen Schrott. Also erst einmal Stöpsel aufgezogen.

Totalmente recomendables.

Perfetto e adatto allo scopo, sport e musica insieme.

Exactly what I was looking for!
I'd been searching for an IPX8 waterproof MP3 player for a while. I tried a bone conduction set that turned out NOT to be waterproof and another one that while waterproof sounded tinny. Both were returned. Others, while looking great on paper were outside of my gadget budget. I was attracted to the Tayogo because of the price but also because it was advertised as being waterproof AND appropriate for swimming. I swim 10+ km per week and wanted a device to help me focus while motivating me. When I received the Tayogo (in Yellow - white and black are also available) it was a very simple process to plug the device into a USB port, charge it and import (up to 8 GB) of music into it. Using the device is easy, with the play/pause button being the power on/off button. I found it easiest to set the volume in advance vs fiddling with it in the water. You may notice the sound is a little tinny when using the device out of the water. Don't be concerned. Once in the water, the bass tones are enhanced. With the water earplugs installed ambient noise is greatly diminished. When not listening to music, the only sounds to be heard are water noises and breathing. Shuffle is the default setting. If, like me you want to listen to songs in a particular order you'll need to organize them prior to porting the music over. You can then select play in order by pressing the down volume button for 3 seconds. I ended up numbering the songs in a sequence suitable for warm up, cruising and cool down. A couple of cautions. One, if you're wearing a mask and snorkel put the device on LAST and remove it FIRST when done otherwise you risk damaging the wires connected to the earbuds. The second is to make sure you don't flex the frame inward while in the water. You can pop the device out of the frame, something you don't want to do in the water. In terms of durability, the device's play and standby times are as advertised. I wore it in the pool for 5 hours and the device performed flawlessly. I didn’t use it for 4 days and the device was still useable. Regarding functionality, it can be tricky reaching behind one's head to operate the device but eventually becomes 2nd nature. Overall, the device is well worth the price.
