This is a cute story and will have the kids laughing with the nonsense rhyming throughout! The hiccuping hippocampus and his friends try everything to cure him of his hiccups! The illustrations add to the silliness of this book and give detail and personality to the story!! The book has a nice fully illustrated dust cover to protect the fully illustrated hard cover! The reinforced binding gives me confidence this book will last along time!

This delightful animated story with creative words and problem solving! Love the brightly colored illustrations that took me on a journey of a hippopotamus’s friends. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys a creative story. All ages of entertainment.

This really is a silly book, and if you are all wrapped up in being perfect - you won't like it. But kids love the silliness and have fun as both the adult and they learn how to say these extra silly words! I had a blast with my adult daughter trying to read it, and her daughter had fun with her mommy having a hard time getting those silly words to flow off her tongue. Does it all make sense? No, it's silly and only meant to rhyme and be totally goofy. I get to spend some quality time with my 4 yr. old granddaughter as we go through the book, and she stops and asks questions - as this book does need a little explaining as to what is happening, as the silly words are a bit confusing - but I think that is also part of the books appeal, spending one on one time with a child as they learn to question things and develop a playful imagination. The last section of the book tells a story about each character, which is a little strange, but one of my granddaughters' favorite parts of the book, and we can flip back and talk more about each character.

The story is cute, and I love the lesson of working together to solve a problem. The rhymes are contrived with non-sensical words, but my nearly 5 year old loves the story.

Mr. Zenz’s charming use of rhyme and situation to tell the story makes this book fun for both children and adults. The illustrations are soft, and every page made me smile. As an adult, I felt the best part was the last page where he gives credit to the “actors” within the book. I laughed out loud! This book will be donated to Sain Joseph School in Chehalis, WA.

Such a cute little book! It makes out little ones giggle and we always enjoy reading it!

This is a super cute book. I originally took it out of our public library for my young daughter. She loved the bright colours, cute pictures and funny words, and I just loved how cute and catchy the rhyming verses were. It is a fun read, and although the words are often really silly, it is an adorable book that begs to be read over and over. As a plus, the drawings and colouring are just beautiful and vibrant. I think this is one of those board books that you wouldn't necessarily pick up or know about, but it is a definite addition to any toddler board book library, in my opinion (as a mom and a teacher!)

I got the kindle version, but I can't wait for the paperback

A funny and cute take for younger children. Very nicely illustrated. I loved the cast bio at the end. Recommended.

This book has really attractive illustrations. Ingeneous rhyming even plain, downright ridiculous. You find yourself laughing whether you like it or not. Have fun!!
