Whoever invented carpet staples clearly had a personal vendetta against homeowners. Whoever made this Dexter-Russell staple remover deserves a thank-you card. I was pulling up old carpet and figured removing the staples would be the easy part. I was wrong. There were what felt like 37 million staples hiding in the subfloor, all laughing at my pliers. Then I grabbed this little tool, slid the thin tip under the staples, and they started popping out with way less effort than I expected. The handle is comfortable enough that my hand wasn't begging for mercy after an hour, and the blade is sturdy enough that I never felt like I was going to bend or snap it. It gets under stubborn staples surprisingly well, even the ones that looked like they'd been there since dinosaurs had shag carpet. By the end of the project I had a bucket full of rusty staples, an intact back, and a newfound respect for this little tool. It's one of those things you don't think you'll use often, but when you need it, nothing else comes close. If you've got old carpet to remove, save yourself the frustration and get one. Your fingers will thank you, your pliers will finally get a day off, and you'll spend a lot less time inventing new curse words.

I've had great luck with Dexter products. The handle is shaped well for palm support and the small lift at the tip helps leverage the hinge. I shucked 200 oysters that were on the small side (more challenging to enter) and have made this my go to.

Grew tired of using a flathead screwdriver, so I went with this knife. It is a little thick for getting into the hinge, but the blade is strong enough due to its thickness to pop the shell once you can split the hinge. A thinner blade would likely snap with harder to shuck oysters. It's not sharp, so you run more risk of the oyster shell cutting you than the knife.

Easy to use and fits in the hand well.

Bought an oyster knife before I knew what to look for. Kept destroying shells and jabbing my hands. A friend turned me onto this style and I’ll never use my old knife again. This tool opens oysters with ease! Come here little oysters!

Again a dexter product took really long to deliver but amazing

This is the best oyster shucker knife I have used, the curved strong tip gets in easy and makes opening faster and cleaner. It doesn't have the finger protector like others but because its so good its not needed.

I have had different kinds of oysters openers, I hv this particular one and is the top, the best . Its in my possession for over 30 years. I bought this one at Amazon at reasonable price as a gift to my friend , which has been a chef for over 55 and worked in many 5star Hotels. Me. Leone Cristiani didn’t know about it. And I hv seen chefs using different ones and literally implanting the openers right through the other hand. Opening oysters can be very tricking and dangerous. I hv worked in hotels, restaurants and owned many restaurants. So I know something about it.
