KEEN Utility Men's Pittsburgh Waterproof Steel Toe Boots
Another quality boot offered by Keen. The KEEN Utility Men's Pittsburgh Waterproof Steel Toe Boots are made well, feel comfortable, as comfortable as a steel toe boot can, and offer my husband a quality boot that generally will last him 6 to 8 months of daily wear for an electrical profession. These boots offer the better traction, hold up well in wet situations, and the tongue of the boot stays put and is connected to help deter water inside the boots. The stitching is done well and the extra lacing of these boots make for a better overall fit. My husband wears an 8.5 and the boot is a perfect fit. While it would be nice if Keen continued to offer the same boots, at least when a new edition is put out into the market they are also made well and it is easy to find another quality made boot.

This is it!
I'll start by saying that I am very rough on shoes. Department store shoes normally last me 3 or so months before there are holes in the side of them, and or rubber bumpers peeling off. I have now had these just shy of a year, and they are in great shape (minus the abuse I inflicted on them) I work as a diesel tech, and I'm on my feet for 12+ hours a day on concrete. These shoes are very comfortable! Some days I wear them for 16 hours and my feet still dont hurt! I really like the lace retention device they use (I did break on off... but that was from a giant log that nearly smashed my foot.) They provide a very positive lock to keep your shoes tied all day. I did upgrade my laces to some kevlar ones because of the welding and torch splatter that eventually burnt holes through the laces. The rubber on the toes are holding up great compared to the dozen other shoes I've had, nothing is peeling away from being on my knees working on concrete. Pros and cons PROS Fits as expected, very durable, winter time warmth is pretty good (working outside in 25 F to 30 F degrees my feet stayed warm), Summer time breathability is great (your feet still sweat, but they aren't over heated), lace retention device's are great, Super comfortable, Oil resistant, tread lasts a long time, steel toe is in a good spot for kneeling down. CONS If they came with kevlar laces that would be the cats meow, I can't complain about anything else. In short I will be a loyal customer now that I've seen the immense quality of these boots! To often you dont get what you pay for, but I can tell you that these boots are defiantly worth 200$! I will not hesitate to buy these boots once mine wear out!

Favorite boot ever
I bought my first pair of these in 2011. I used them until 2021 and gave them to my little brother when he started his first gig. They were as comfortable as a good tennis shoe till the last day. I tried their grey and black ones. Forget the model. But those things hurt. Should have sent them back. These are like a good hiker compared to a work boot. I’ll update if the new ones are trash

My favorite boot
As a blue collar worker, these boots are great. These are my 2nd pair (first pair lasted over 2 years). Personally I like the hiking boot style so they’re perfect for me. No slip, worn is heavy rain before with no leaking into the boot. Not even a little. These are my forever boots as long as keen still produces them. No need to break them in, they’re comfortable from day 1. Hope this help if you’re considering these boot. :)

Awesome value
So comfortable right out of the box. Plenty of room if you wear thick sox. I would definitely buy these again.

Keen Utility Pittsburgh ST Boots
I bought these Keen Pittsburgh boots for their steel toe ASTM F2413-11 M I/75 C/75 EH rating with oil and slip resistance, as it is a requirement for my job. I also wanted something waterproof, and more on the warm side, as I am out on the streets of the South Bronx every day. I work in every weather condition and temps above 100 F down to sub zero. I walk on every kind of surface under the sun, outside and in. My job also takes me through every kind of businesse, basement, greasy kitchen, factory, warehouse, shop, you name it. The boots are rugged and hefty, yet they feel light when walking in them. There are a lot of reviews out there that say their boots are the most comfortable they have ever worn, but seriously, these boots are really, really comfortable. I'm used to going through a period of time with other brands where I accept that my feet and ankles are going to go through the pain of breaking in a new pair of boots. Not with these! I don't feel like I'm wearing steel toe work boots at all. I feel like I'm cheating the system somehow! The comfort of the boots seems to have a lot to do with the material used for the top center (under the laces) and tongue. It is a reinforced synthetic fabric with very good padding, rather than a hard stiff leather tongue. I also love how the tongue is not a separate piece from the body of the boot. It keeps the boot sealed from anything getting in. The tops of the boots above the ankles have good thick padding that make the boots feel like they're giving you a big firm warm hug. There is also a thinner padding in the lining throughout the rest of the boot that works for both comfort and insulation. All that goodness on the inside, and bad ass ruggedness on the outside. Quality, tough, materials. Double stitching all over the boot. I didn't find a single frayed or hanging thread. The leather is tough, but almost has a slight suede to it. If you run your finger across it, you can feel the leather is actually infused with a waterproof substance. It almost feels kind of like a light wax. The metal lace rings and hooks are something that will hold up after time. The top hooks are locking and hold the laces at the tension you pull them. I was a little concerned about having the one fabric lace strap between the lower lace rings and upper hooks, but to my surprise there is a hard plastic sleeve inside the end of the strap where the lace goes through (see picture). This will keep the laces from wearing through the strap. Also, all the fabric straps on the boot have a reflective material in them, which helps with high visibility at night, or bad weather. The tread is good and grippy, the lugs are nice and beefy but not cumbersome. The front of the sole angles up a little at the toes which works really well with your natural walking motions to actually help propel you a bit. I actually end up using less effort to walk! Last but not least, these boots just look friggin good. I love the style and the color. And if you don't like one color, Keen makes these in five different colors. All in all, these boots have exceeded all of my expectations. I couldn't be happier.

Love-Hate relationship
These Keen steel toed boots are, bar none,, the one product I have the single most conflicted opinion about - and equally strong opinions on either side. I TRULY have a love-hate relationship with the boots but in the end a couple items VERY slightly outweighs the other and overall beats a lot of the competition. With these boots, there is no “gray” opinions I have.. they are polarized. So, being honest, I’m not going to give a “pro” and “con” because that suggests middle ground is possible which I don’t feel that way at all given how many pairs I’ve ourchased. No.. just “love” and “hate” so here goes: LOVE: —They are fantastically comfortable straight out of the box. No break-in period at all. —they’re warm. Period. A pair of warm socks and you’re good to go. —the leather is absolutely waterproof. Other brands mislead. Consistently (until the same issue occurs) my feet stay dry. Period. Without treatment. —the tread is fantastic; on uneven and steep ground they’re 100% reliable not to lose traction —they’re truly puncture proof. HATE: —the quality control is unacceptably horrible. EVERY single pair I’ve owned required replacement to a great extent due to the sole separating from the boot. Utterly ridiculous considering Keen is fully aware of it they continue to churn out boots that fail over and over for the same reason that hardly any of their competitors have the same problem with. Just remarkable the extent they ignore their customers.. —the price is RIDICULOUSLY expensive compared to other well known high quality brands. Especially given the quality issues! —Given the price, i’ve NEVER got more than 1.5 years of use out of them whereas my colleagues have had boots over 5-years old to the point managers force them to buy a new pair of boots.. and that’s insane. 1.5 years - you’ve got to be kidding! —the soles are super grippy because they’re really soft.. meaning the “cleats” tear off surprisingly fast. —when the boots fail, they fail IMMEDIATELY.. there’s no: “hmmm, I think there’s something up with the treads..”. It’s one d as y good, next day flip-flops. But in the end that COMFORT, grip, warmth, and waterproofing keeps me coming back… I feel so silly purchasing a product as polarizing as this, but honestly, unless someone shows me a steel-toed boot that has the same positive characteristics as these I’ll jump ship immediately.. but until then.. doggone it..

Exceptional support and protection.
The Keen Pittsburgh ST work boot provides excellent cushioning, a supportive sole, reliable footing on wet concrete floors, and are just an all-around great boot. I work on concrete floors all day, and need good foot/ankle support to do a lot of awkward lifting and carrying 20-50 pound boxes and sacks in tight spaces. In a year of working on concrete floors, my feet changed from a women's 9 medium to women's 9.5 Wide. I also have metal pins/ implants in my right foot, So Keen's generous toe-box , coupled with a narrow heel, and lateral motion support are a huge plus. Men's 7.5 D provided a great fit with medium-weight heavy hiking socks, although Amazon recommended an 8D. To maximize cushioning in the forefoot where I've got the metal pieces-parts in my foot, I replaced the Keen insoles with a pair of HLYOON gel insoles purchased thru Amazon. Now I've got super support and even more cushioning. No more limping at the end of the day. I tried many other brands before finding these Keens. Now two weeks of use prove they are great boots for active work. There aren't many women's work boots out there. For me, these boots are perfect in fit, support, and protection. now they are my go-to hiking boot as well as work boot. This boot does not have much flex in the sole, but a relatively rigid sole is just what I need for work-- and also for hiking. It took about 3 days to get the boots pretty much broken in. Have used them for hiking as well as work and they do well in either venue. I don't usually provide five-star reviews, or feedback that is this gushy. If this review sounds over-the-top laudatory, it's only because these boots have saved my feet and my job and make me feel like dancing in the process.
