Work well, fit well, comfortable!

We had gone to a medical supply vendor for these replacements for our crutches. Unfortunately, during normal use on the sidewalks, the rubber began to come off in pieces. When we attempted to return the product back to the vendor, they would not refund our money because they suspected the user to deliberately use the product in an inapproriate manner. Normal use is inappropriate? These replacements solved our problem and I highly recommend them over your local medical supply vendors. For the price of just the tips for the crutches at the medical supply vendor, you get the tips, hand and arm pit cushions as well! The price is far less and the quality of make is exceptional.

I have a pair of crutches that were unused for 36 yrs. When I needed them for a surgery down from the attic they came. All the original rubber/latex had hardened, cracked, and melted. I ordered these to replace the original. They fit the crutches well. As some of the other reviews said the hand grips are difficult to put on. Thankfully someone suggested using a little soap to help it go on smoothly. I used a small drop of liquid dishsoap. The description said these were padded. It is not padded on the hand grips or the underarm "pad"; hese are hard and rigid. I had to buy other actual pads to be comfortable for a month post-surgery. The rubber feet were very good. They lasted on all surfaces for a month and I never slipped or skidded. The rubber didn't crack or break away at all. I felt very safe and stable using my old crutches with these replacement items.

My crutches only get light use, so I can't comment on the longevity. However, I was pleased that these (Aheirs brand) fit my standard aluminum crutches well. I would say that the gray color is a "medium-gray" color. HELPFUL TIP: I was having a hard time getting the hand grips to slide onto the bar (tight fit), so I put some baby powder on the bar and into the gray hand grips, with my finger, and was able to twist the grip back & forth while sliding it onto the bar. It worked!!

Some of the other crutch handles are quite hard and are not softer to use while being Frim enough to last . These are the ones that last and have some give to the preassure one puts on the handles with the palm. I had looked for a replacement set in six different pharmacies and to my amazement they did not sell a set anywhere anymore . I was told to buy on line and it was very confusing to decide which set to purchase. After mulling over reviews and checking close ups of pictures I finally decided to chose this brand . I had no idea what brand I had purchased nine years ago when I fractured my foot . I needed replacements for the crutches that were new. One set I had purchased was a nice black color but had no give to the palm and actually hurt my palm with the pressure of crunching around . I am so happy with these ! They are cushioned with spring to them but firm and safe without being flimsy. If you’re looking to buy replacements for crutches this is the product I recommend . It’s also a very good price . I will be taking not this time of the brand as it took much muddling through reviews and pictures to figure out what would be comfortable for daily use for a few months of healing . Do not hesitate to buy these . They are slightly textured for a good grip , easily replaced, and best of all have the spring of a cake just done in an oven with the firmness of a done cake ( for the bakers review) . Best of all it will accept the pressure of clutching about without torturing your hands . The bottoms pieces are good on traction even on long grass and snow . The arm pieces are as perfectly comfortable and well made as the palm grip . I have been on crutches many times over my lifetime with one thing or another with my feet and periodically over sixty years of living . These replacements are comfortable and secure and perfect. Not exciting to look at but they are made as they should be .
