Are these actual cardboard targets, or just paper targets?

There cardboard targets.. nice quality just a little small in my opinion but great quality.. these are NOT your standard cardboard cutout person it’s a 13x16 smaller version .. box it comes in is also a target u can cutout when done

Can they be used for coumpound bow ?

They could however you’d need to backstop it with hay bails or something else to prevent your arrows from going straight through

so do you get 27 targets instead of 25, since the carboard box it is sent in can be cut out and used as targets?

I didn't check . . . just shot the hell out of them. I bought an extra box and had twice the fun . . . no, scratch that! With the binary trigger it was four times the fun.
