Well made and comes with a great case
Product was very well packed, and started on its first press. Works very well on normal shrink tubing, takes a little longer on marine connectors while on high. Only using it for the indirect heat because of the portability of gas, and the reliability of the product. This takes only seconds to warm up. 100 does a great job, and if you want a little more umph get the 200 for efficiency with a larger heat tip for better airflow around the splice.

Well made, although a little bigger than I expected.
This made in Japan butane soldering iron is very nice. I got this since I was interested in getting the Weller Pyropen, but wasn't willing to pay a premium for the Weller name for the same iron. This is very well made, love the visible butane tank, the push-button ignition, although I think I'm still more comfortable with a good old Portasol Technic which fits my hands better and has shorter tip to grip distance. The Technic is getting pretty old though, so I'm getting used to this iron.

Hot Stuff
I ordered this as a replacement for the Lexivon Iโve been using for years. This is quite an upgrade. I like the styling of it and the ability to see the fuel level is great. It feels good in the hand. I tested it against the old Lexivon and the Master Appliance beat it by a few seconds in several tests. As a marine electrician I use heat shrink all day every day. Saving a few seconds here and there adds up. It gets very hot and the torch is light a light saber. I really like the metal case. Having a hot appliance to manage all day takes up some headspace on jobs. The metal case gives me a safe place to put this while Iโm working with it. I also appreciate that itโs a US company. It would be cool if it was actually made in the US, but virtually nothing is, soโฆ Over all Iโd definitely recommend this. Itโs pricey, but if you use an iron or heat gun a lot, itโs worth it to have high quality equipment. One more thing worth mentioning. Iโve seen some comments saying one handed operation isnโt possible. I used this all day today only using one hand. Itโs pretty easy.

The best for us
We bought this so we could solder the wires for our low voltage landscape lights without having to drag an extension cord along. We have a lot of modifications we are doing to our outdoor lighting. The battery operated one I had was just not strong enough to even heat up the heavy gage wire, not to mention the corrosion on the old wire in the ground was a big hinderance. We used a solder torch for a short while but they are so freaky hot and hard to use without accidently burning the wire coating or the area around where your working. We had reservations (due to the high price) but took a chance and bought this one. It is a great solder iron. We don't even bother with any other soldering irons we have and we have a variety. Read and follow the instructions and it will always work. I have read reviews where people have trouble and it almost always sounds like they didn't fully read the instuctions for lighting and using this iron. So easy and so hot when you need it. We swear by it and would advise even people who don't need a wirerless solder iron. If you buy it you will find yourself grabbing it instead of the plug in one, no matter what the job.

Spendy but excellent butane soldering iron
Its definitely on the expensive end of portable butane soldering irons but the quality is unequaled. Excellent fit and finish with very good temperature control (tip: use a thermometer to get it dialed in). If you have to occasionally do soldering and shrink tube in the field then this is the tool you need. Compact and comes in an adequate case, though you can get a tip cover and carry it as-is in a tool bag pocket easy enough too. Replacement tips are not inexpensive but also very high quality - I've yet to replace mine, even with moderate use for a cpl of years!
