Are the 4 x 6 without zip lock? Description says "without zipper." What's the point if it doesn't zip closed? I don't get it.

To Clarify: The bags all come with a reclosable zipper lock. Now, the actual dimensions of the bag measure 6" up to the zipper, the zipper makes it 0.4" bigger. So the total height of the bag would be 6.4" with the zipper, or 6" until the zipper. Hope this helps.

Can you heat seal this?

Although they are not made for, or recommended for heat sealing, we have in the past been successful in heat sealing these bags. So no, it's not recommended.
