NATIONAL BESTSELLER • Three classic stories featuring unforgettable Dr. Seuss characters—including the beloved Yertle the Turtle! “I’m ruler,” said Yertle, “of all that I see. But I don’t see enough. That’s the trouble with me.” A small burp causes the downfall of a foolish king in “Yertle the Turtle,” one of three modern fables in this collection of thought-provoking stories. With his signature rhyming style, Dr. Seuss offers timeless lessons on greed (“Yertle the Turtle”), vanity (“Gertrude McFuzz”), and pride (“The Big Brag”) that continue to entertain and delight generation after generation. “Today the great Yertle, that Marvelous he, is King of the Mud. That is all he can see. And the turtles, of course . . . all the turtles are free.” Review: Great Stories, Great Experience - What can I say? Two of the stories in this book, Yertle the Turtle and Gertrude McFuzz, were some of my favorites growing up and I love sharing them with my grandchildren now. The fact that they love them six decades after I fell in love with them prove these are true gems for children. I do have to say the seller was fantastic. The book was in my hands less than 24 hours after being ordered. Talk about great service! Review: Great stories to read aloud - Lovely classic with several Dr. Seuss rhyming stories. My 5 year old loved it!

Classic kids reading
Bought this for my grand-nephew. Yertle was one of my favorite Dr. Seuss characters and stories. I remember enjoying this well into middle school, where i spent much of my spare time in the library fiction section. Helping a child discover the joy of reading is so important. It can take them anywhere, in this world or many others in fantasy and science fiction (creative writing makes your brain work, ex. Dune trilogy, dragons of Pern, Harry Potter). Sadly, required reading in schools often drives kids away from resources they might enjoy and leaves many thinking they don't like to read.

Yertle the Turtle ist einfach top
