(I bought this for use with my DVR crashcam so this review will be from that point of view)I'm not going to say this is the top of the line, but i am over-satisfied with what i received. The suction cup is very strong, it holds position well, and the price was great. The turret is metal, so the screw won't just strip out the threads when you tighten it.One thing to note, your camera will be upside down, unless it has it's threads in the top. The shape of this thing doesn't allow it to hold a camera from the bottom. This is fine for any of the windshield DVR crashcams that are available, they typically have the threads on the top, expecting this style of mount.As far as strength, it far exceeds the strength needed for holding a cell phone or DVR crashcam, not sure it could support a 'tape fed' camcorder on bouncy roads, but it might, it is pretty strong.Some major pros:Strong suctionStandard camera screwMetal parts in the right placesCons:only 1 axis pivotSummary, i love it

I had a problem getting the ball head to stay where I tightened it as posted by other reviewers. I disassembled it and put the little metal cup into the correct place between the ball and the screw. All seems to work as intended now. I suspect this was either not assembled properly or it shook loose in shipping. So far I've used this on a window and on a painted surface (motorcycle saddlebag) and it works fine as long as you wet the suction cup when attaching it. It did not work for the inside of a windshield since the ball mount only goes to 90 degrees, it would be fine on the outside, though difficult to reach the camera buttons there. Side window mount worked just fine.

Good product, well built suction cup mount. I use this for a phone tripod mount for my car (picture attached, which I bought on Amazon also). The only thing I wish it could do was tilt left or right, not just up and. It depends on how you mount it to your windshield. They way it works for my set up, I can't tilt left or right. Fast shipping via Prime. I would recommend this product. I'm actually thinking of purchasing a second one.

I bought this to use in my car with my new Contour Roam 2 action camera. It works wonderfully. The suction cup has been strong and the camera screws right into the joint. At first I thought the camera was getting loose and swinging out of position when I hit hard pot holes, but then I realized there is a second knob for holding the ball bearing tighter so the camera wouldn't swing around. I've used it for about a week and think this product is great. I happened to get this with Amazon Prime shipping and for $5.95 this little unit was much cheaper than the one sold on the Contour website for $30 plus more for shipping.

The mount is a great idea - works as advertised. However, our particular application was to use it as a semipermanent mount on the dash of our VW for our iPhones. After a couple of months the suction sup started to stretch and we tried removing the mount to reset it and could not. The suction cup had completely adhered itself to the dash and we had quite the time cutting it off. The soft pliable "rubber" of the suction cup deteriorated over time and adhered itself to what it was mounted to. Be forewarned.

As stated in previous reviews, the range of adjustments is limited. This mount will only really work if you are attempting to mount a device to a mostly horizontal flat surface. It won't hold a heavy camera, but should be ok for a very light camera or device. I'm not sure it's going to work for my intended purposes? I have several tiny video cams with the appropriate threaded mount, I intended to use this mount to stick one in the windshield of my vehicle, but it doesn't look like the amount you can adjust the mount will be sufficient.

I purchased this to replace a cheap, plastic mount that came with my dashcam. In fact, the old mount was so poorly mad that it broke when I accidentally dropped it in the grass when moving the cam from one car to the other. THIS mount is not so flimsy. I haven't tested it by dropping it or anything, but I can tell by its construction that it won't break from little accidents. Also, even though it doesn't look like it has the agility to conform to a windshield, and level the cam correctly, it actually does. I had no problem leveling the cam. Last but not least, it actually sticks to the windshield! My old one didn't stay in place for long.

I used 2of these to mount a led light bar to the windshield. It worked great only added 2 nuts to mount to light bar brackets.

It worked fine, rather it exceeded its function beyond expectation. After a few days, I could not remove it from my windshield. I had to pull it out with all my might! It sort of got bonded with the anti glare sun control film on my wind shield. I am glad I did not ruin the film.I have included a photo as proof.

From appearance it appears sturdy, durable and will serve purpose for which I have purchased it.

Overall good for the price. Sometimes it refuses to stick at low temperatures. Other than that gets the job done.
