Simply the Best
Best knife I've ever owned in over 35 years of owning pocket knives. Period. If you must know more than that, here it is: I was a Gerber knife fan for years, but I realize now that I just didn't know any better. Several years ago, my girlfriend bought me a Kershaw folding knife with a built-in driver with #1 and #2 flat and phillips drill bits. It was cheap, but it was utilitarian and served it's purpose. It was a $10 sale item at W@L-M@rt that she had put in my stocking for Xmas. Anyway, it quickly replaced my Gerber because the thing was razor sharp out of the box and held it's edge much longer than the Gerber I was always having to sharpen. Anyway, the belt clip on the cheap Kershaw was coming loose after a couple of years of regular use (still not bad for $10!) so I started searching for a replacement, a Kershaw of course, and I found this Kershaw 1605CKTST Clash Folding Knife with SpeedSafe (2-Step Serration) on Amazon...I always buy a knife with a partially serrated blade because it makes the knife much more versatile for different cutting needs. This thing has not disappointed. The SpeedSafe open assist is amazing! It opens lightning fast with the push of the very well placed flipper, located on the back spine of the knife. Works MUCH better than the little knob that most "quick opening" knifes have on the blade itself. Like I said, it holds an edge better than (pretty much) any knife I have ever owned, especially for the $30 I paid for it. It is easy to sharpen. I use the Smith's PP1 Pocket Pal Multifunction Sharpener that I bought here on AMazon. It was cheap and gets the job done, and has the taped diamond rod for sharpening the serrations. It has a decent weight to it, and feels like a quality product. The belt clip works great, and has never loosened on me. I carry this knife with me EVERYWHERE that I go (except airports of course) and use the clip on the front left pocket of my jeans, even when riding my motorcycle. I can't imagine life without my Kershaw Clash. I use it every day and it has yet to let me down. If I ever lose it (I HAVE actually lost it once already, but had another on the way using Amazon Prime that SAME day!) I would buy another without hesitation. I cannot recommend this knife enough to those of you in the market for one. BUY IT.

Holding its edge well & seems sturdy
This thing, while I’ve only had it a couple mos, has held its edge better than all my $75-$100 knives. Only been a couple mos but great so far. Feels well put together also.

This is an awesome, beautiful, well designed EDC "clip-pocket" knife. Wear it properly & you won't hurt yourself.
Possibly the best pocket knife I have ever owned. Perfect for an EDC.....just be sure you use the clip and don't put it fully down in your pocket. You could end up hurting yourself. No seriously. Read on. The SpeedSafe Assisted Opening mechanism is sweeeeeet. However, I could see this causing accidental openings (& injury) if you put it down in your pocket, so don't do that. This knife is DESIGNED to use the clip to attach to your pocket. This is specifically to prevent accidental opening and injury. So please, just use this one like it is designed to be used and be safe. If you want a knife to insert way down deep in your pocket, get one without a speed-assisted opening mechanism. BC I'm telling you now, this thing is beyond razor sharp. Holds it's edge very well too, and comes with lifetime free sharpening from the Mfg. But you don't want to chance this baby opening without your permission while way down in your pocket, down near....vital areas. Just don't do it. The knife comes with an instruction sheet. PLEASE read it before you toss it. Honestly, don't be that guy (or gal) who thinks he knows everything and ends up slicing something important simply bc you are an idiot. My mother loves a good pocket knife to keep in her car console and one in her purse. I would not buy this for her to keep in for either of those places. I would buy her one without assisted opening. Any knife with assisted opening will be extremely dangerous to have laying deep in a pocket or purse, simply bc they can and at some point, will open. So when you reach in for the knife, you will eventually find an open and very sharp blade. So again, don't do that. don't buy this knife unless you will be smart and carry it wisely & safely. I made a little "pocket" on the inside wall of my car's middle console, just big enough to slip this into and keep it from accidentally opening. Having a good sharp utility knife around is always a good idea. This knife is perfect for my needs and has been used several times a week for one thing or another. And don't knock this product for being designed the way it is. Honestly, you have so many great EDC pocket knife options, each one designed for a different use and purpose. This one is designed to be worn a certain way, and it works very well....as long as you have a few live brain cells and actually use them. So get it, use it CORRECTLY, and love it. This is an awesome, beautiful, well designed EDC clip-pocket knife.

Great EDC Knife
I've had my Clash for about a week now and have been using it as my EDC knife. Overall, this knife is a great value - I paid around twenty-two bucks for it and I feel like I've gotten my money's worth. It came quite sharp out of the box - it could easily shave arm hair and I had to do very little to it to get a nice razor-sharp edge on it. The spring assist on it is nice and crisp - the blade deploys quickly when the actuator is depressed on the back of the knife. The pocket clip holds firmly, and has a wide profile at the opening to keep a good grip. The clip comes mounted at the top of the handle out of the box, but you can move it to the bottom of the handle. Sorry lefties - the clip only mounts to the right hand side of the handle (right side when looking at the spine of the blade.) When folded up, the knife will squeeze into and clip onto MOLLE webbing, so if you happen to have MOLLE gear and you want to put the knife within easy reach on the outside, it will go there and not come out unless you apply a significant amount of inertia to it. If you or your gear experience the kind of force necessary to throw this thing out of your MOLLE webbing, then you've probably got bigger problems on your hands. If you're just hiking and jumping from rock to rock, for example, it's highly unlikely that the knife is going to come out of that MOLLE webbing unless you pull it out. I struggled between giving this knife four stars and five stars because while there are some things that I think can be improved about it, it's still and excellent knife for the value. The only negative things I have to say about this knife are nit-picky, especially considering its price point. First and foremost, the knife is a little heavy for its size. Granted, it looks durable and both sides of the inner handle are reinforced with metal for the liner lock, but compared to the other knives I own that are of comparable size and function, this one is the heaviest. I'd pay a few extra bucks for this knife if they used lighter but durable materials for the handle, like glass-reinforced nylon. Secondly, the ergonomics for deploying the blade leave something to be desired. The spring assist actuator on the back of the blade requires more force to deploy than some of my other knives, and has a somewhat abrupt edge on it and will tend to dig into your finger when you press down on it. Again, it's a nit-pick and not a major issue. However, compared to similar knives, this one is less ergonomic when it comes to working the spring assist. The spring assist is nice and crisp, so I wouldn't change that aspect of it. However, it would be nice to see a slightly larger actuator for more leverage and a more rounded edge on it. Another option like a thumb stud on the blade would be a nice option to deploy it as well. In summary: The pros: - Great price - Decent steel (8Cr13MoV - similar to AUS8) - Pretty sharp out of the box and takes a good edge - Crisp spring assist action - Stows easily and securely The cons: - Heavy - blade deployment ergonomics Over time, here are some other things I'd like to learn about this blade: - How the blade coating holds up - Edge retention over the longer term - How well it works with a firesteel - How it holds up when I drop it in the garage or on the patio. I only say this because I had a $10 S&W knife drop out of my bag while it was over my shoulder and the outer plastic casing on the knife handle cracked. Overall, it's a great EDC knife for the price.

Awesome EDC knife! Great for multi-use and self defense.
I've owned several of these Clash knives over the years. When I lose one, I immediately replace it. These are wonderful EDC knives. The #1 selling point for me is the grip. My fingers fit the handle perfectly and the knife fits very securely in my hand. I use these for self-defense, even though I've never had to use one for that reason. They're easy to remove from a pocket, open, and change grips with just one hand. They're perfect. I was kind of bummed that Kershaw doesn't sell the stainless steel non-serrated version, but, whatever. Plus, Kershaw headquarters is very close to my home and I get them sharpened for free there.

its is one of my favorite EDC knife
I am an avid knife collector but I collect knifes to carry, not just keep in a box and look at. As far as this knife goes, its is one of my favorite EDC knife. Here is the reasons why: 1) The price for the knife less than $30, means that the knife can be abused and you would not feel any heartache. For example, there are things that I do with this knife that I would not do on my Emerson Super CQC8, which is just too expensive. Also if the knife should be accidently confiscated (like you forgot you had it at TSA-airport), not as big as loss. 2) The deployment of the knife (from pocket to combat-ready) is extremely fast, second only to my Emerson wave CQC8, and faster than my Benchmade switchblade. This is only true if you flip the pocket clip so that the knife is in your pocket with speedsafe at the bottom. This is the quickest deployment as you would not have to flip the knife after removing from pocket (if left clip in factory state). Any time you have to flip the knife (change grip), especially in stressful situation, you have a chance of loosing the knife. The inverted clip position allows you to grab the whole handle from the pocket and withdraw the knife and flip the speedsafe as the knife leaves your pocket without changing the grip too much. You so have a slight shift of the handle to achieve a more seated grip but that is a lot less of an adjustment than having to flip the grip. 3) The Speedsafe works perfect for the size of blade. I do not think the speedsafe would work as well for a much longer blade as that would be too much mass to propel smoothly. Larger blade probably work better with flip open (like Emerson super series). 4) Serration is perfected aligned on the blade to be most 'effective' for ripping through clothes, seat belts, tree limbs, etc (as needed). You will also notice that this blade actually have a slight recurve where the serrations are at so that you can get maximum ripping leverage. I cannot comment on how well the knife will maintain the edge, as the knife came relatively sharp (a few strokes with a leather strop or very fine DMT plate seems to do) as I have not had the opportunity to put it on a stone. I can tell that it will sharpen well without me testing it as I handled many knives and know what I am holding. This is no Benchmade but for the price point it is much better value and utility than your over $100 knives.

1700+ Reviews Don't Lie
I think someone referred to this as a beater knife, which I take to mean "knife you'll actually use every day". I'm not a collector or a knife fighter, I just want a good tool - and even better if I can get one cheaply. I paid under $30 for this and have been using it every day at work for almost a year. now. I've included a pic to show what the blade looks like now. Some of the coating has worn off, because, friends, I USE this knife. It's not as pretty now, but neither am I and I'm still functional too. I wear gloves at work a lot, and the assisted opening is a huge plus. When I want to use the blade I don't want to use two-hands or fumble around getting it open, so I just love the flipper. The edge has never chipped or folded - the Chinese CR metals gets a bad rap, but 8cr13mov is similar to AUS8, which means it's perfectly acceptable for a stainless steel knife. Look at that worn-off coating again and tell me this blade can't handle daily abuse. I use one of those cheap Smith's Pocket Pals to sharpen it, I'm not winning the sharpest knife award or shaving with it but I mean it always cuts what I want cut smoothly and takes like 10 seconds to resharpen. There are two things I would like to note, as nothing is perfect except for my wife and I occasionally question even that. The balance has always struck me as a tad handle-heavy when I would prefer it to be completely neutral. I'm so nit-picky I don't even know if others would notice it and I may even be wrong. I also don't absolutely love the grip, it's perfectly fine but perfectly fine isn't perfect. When using gloves I don't notice it (and the size of the handle is great with gloves), but in my bare hand it isn't a Mercedes, more like your 7-year-old Corolla that gets the job done as un-luxuriously as possible. tl;dr - keys, wallet, Kershaw Clash. Get the uncoated version if you care about aesthetics.
