Three New York Times –bestselling thrillers take IRA gunman Liam Devlin from WWII to the Cold War to a terrorist plot in Northern Ireland. "A thriller writer in a class of his own." — Financial Times In The Eagle Has Landed , the inspiration for the film starring Donald Sutherland, an audacious Nazi plan to kidnap Winston Churchill threatens to tip the scales of World War II. In November 1943, an elite team of Nazi paratroopers descends on British soil with a diabolical goal: Abduct Winston Churchill and cripple the Allied war effort. The mission, ordered by Hitler himself and planned by Heinrich Himmler, is led by ace agent Kurt Steiner and aided on the ground by IRA gunman Liam Devlin. As the deadly duo executes Hitler's harrowing plot, only the quiet town of Studley Constable stands in their way. Its residents, including a beautiful widow, are the lone souls aware of the impending Nazi plan, and they must become the most unlikely of heroes as the fate of the war hangs in the balance. In Touch the Devil , in the shadow of the Cold War, two rugged IRA veterans must crush a ruthless mercenary before his deadly scheme can bring Europe to its knees. Terrorist-for-hire Frank Barry has been wreaking havoc in Germany and France with backing from the KGB. But his next mission might be his deadliest: Barry plans to steal a state-of-the-art missile and sell it to the highest bidder. Only Barry's longtime rivals, retired IRA gunman Liam Devlin and his ally Martin Brosnan, can prevent the missile from falling into the wrong hands. But first, Devlin must stage a thrilling jailbreak to free Brosnan before the men set off on a gripping race against the clock to eliminate Barry and end his reign of terror. In Confessional , a rogue terrorist in Northern Ireland prepares for his final deadly strike. Trained by the KGB, the assassin known as Cuchulain has cut a path of violence throughout the region for over two decades, leaving a trail of bodies in his wake. Now he has set his audacious sights on his highest profile target yet: the pope. Desperate to stop the terrorist, British Intelligence enlists an enemy Irish gunman, Liam Devlin, to accomplish what they never could. He must put an end to Cuchulain, once and for all. Jack Higgins is, without a doubt, "the master" (Tom Clancy) of well-crafted World War II espionage thrillers. These three novels featuring Liam Devlin are required reading for lovers of intrigue, action, suspense, and adventure.

Excellent read.
Incredible characters and a storyline that weaves through itself and makes it a hard book to pit down. Highly recommend.

Great book, stood the test of time
Here's a first - a daring Commando raid during World War Two, told from the point of view of the Germans. For that reason, this is a profoundly depressing story, as it shows how decent men were forced to do terrible things during war time. It really, really shows up the futility of war. The writing is taut and gripping, the story moves along relentlessly, and the reader is completely immersed in the action. The characterisations are superb, and we feel enormous sympathy for the German soldiers. This is, rightfully, a classic.

The Eagle Has Landed - Outstanding
I haven't read the other two books, as of yet. However, all three are in boxes somewhere around here, as I had haunted used bookstores for years collecting all of Mr. Higgins books. His effectual way of melding fact with fiction is amazing. Even the later books with Sean Dillon are enjoyable, if somewhat predictable.I started with Alistair McClain and 'The Key To Rebecca" automatically going into the Higgins books. All great reading. I love spy books, particularly when they have "feet of clay" if you know what I mean.Look for Harry Patterson books, Higgins' real name, and a few other pen names. All great.

A Higgins masterpiece
The last of the Liam Devlin novels is truly a Higgins masterpiece. The characters are tremendous and the author outstanding.

On The Edge Of My Seat
That describes this book. While I didn't have long periods of time to sit and read I did make sure to seize any and every time, no matter how brief, to read even as little as a few paragraphs. I found the subject matter /storyline to be top notch and, once I got them all straight, the characters were interesting and fully developed. A most enjoyable, though dark, story indeed.

History, action, and fiction
Fast paced and non-stop action through all three stories. A taste of history and a bit of action to go along with it. Then you get the people, and you like them (or not…depends on the character).

Higgins? Why did I stop reading him?
I don't know why or better yet....I don't remember! But after I read these three Liam Devin novels I know I have to double back and see what other Higgins novels I missed! These three were incredibly entertaining, exciting & dramatic. Unexpected endings! Sensational! Sorry Jack I will make it up to you! I just ordered the 4th Devlin novel!

Eagle Has Landed is good...however...
The Eagle Has Landed was the best of these novels. Plot seemed original - well developed - and entertaining. By comparison the other two had thin plot and character development and did not really engage my interest as much.

Incomplete collection
This is a good collection but to my disappointment instead of three books there are only two books in the collection. Confessional is missing

(The Eagle Has Landedのレビューです)
The Eagle Has Landed（TEHL）を読みたいと思ったが、kindleでは単独で作品を購入できないので、The Liam Devlin NovelとしてTEHLを含む３つの作品が含まれている本書を購入した。
