Is this set retiring shortly?

Lego doesn't officially release information on when their sets will be retiring so any answer offered is going to be purely speculative. That being said, the set was released in early October 2014 along with the Sandcrawler(75059) and most popular UCS sets (like this one) are available 2 - 2.5 years after they are released. That's my best guess. Hope that helps.

Just to confirm, this is an official lego ucs model 75060, new in sealed box with factory tape in place?

Yes, this is new sealed in box with factory tape in place.

From my understanding this model is no longer produced.
