Love it!! Since not a fan of too spicy, I just use a fraction of the amount in about a pound of meat.

I purchase this locally, so am not going to discuss price and shipping. This is a nice blend of herbs and spices that will allow you to quickly whip up a korma dish of your choosing. I use this exclusively for lamb (and use the cheaper shoulder cuts.) You can use a home recipe or one you have found on the web, but I can tell you that following the simple one that is printed on the box will result in a delicious meal. I did double the cooking time with my lamb because I wanted it a lot more tender that the recipe on the box would have made it, but even had I gone strictly by the instructions I have a feeling it would have turned out alright. I will caution that if you are using this for goat, you definitely do need more cooking time. Note that the recipes on the outside of the box are in English and Spanish, and inside the box there are the same in French, Urdu, Hindi and Bangla. Nutritionally, the box contains six 8 gram servings (a tbsp), each are 40 calories (ten of which are from 1 gram of fat per serving), 0 cholesterol, 730mg of sodium and 6 grams of carbs. While the sodium is extra high (4380mg total in the box!), you will be okay if you do not add more salt to the korma when preparing it. I mentioned simple: all you need is some meat with a bone (ribs, lamb, etc.), onions, plain yogurt, ginger, oil or ghee and a box of this mix to make a delicious and authentic korma.

Much too spicy for me. (For reference I like mildly spicy heat, on a par with Fire sauce from Taco Bell or a few dashes of Tabasco in my red beans.) it smelled amazing but the heat was to the point that I couldn’t taste anything. However, my pepper loving best friend says it’s delicious, so I’ll trust him on that.

Shan spices are delicious. This dish is very easy to make and tastes so good. It has a great flavor but not spicy. The recipe makes a nice gravy which is good to serve with naan or roti bread. I love this dish!

This may be a good spice combination but as a non Indian I consider it too hot for my taste. I will say I am a lite weight when it comes to heat.

Shan's Korma spice is actually really good, but you might want to just buy it in an Indian store in person since they'll send you whatever spice they feel like. In this case, I got 10 packages of Tandoori Masala which is a waste of money to me.

The best one

I liked this korma curry masala. However, I found that the recipe called for way too much butter, and I added more yogurt to dilute the butter. There was too much floating on top, and I'm someone who likes butter. I didn't use meat for this dish - I substituted chickpeas. I don't think that really changed anything; in fact, it probably reduced the amount of fat in the dish. The actual taste of the spice mix was amazing. The cardamom really shines through. For that, this mix is worth a try.
