I feel that amber has a slightly sweeter smell in my opinion and is softer, the aroma of this oil is a little different, the aroma is stronger and more concentrated, however, it is still a rich smell and one that I recommend.

I don’t know how there are so many reviews saying how amazing this scent is, but if you are familiar with what amber oil smells like, this is not it. I’ve been familiar with that scent for over 30 years.Whatever this is has a very synthetic undertone, the chemical component to it is a layer hanging over everything else. It’s like Lysol disinfectant spray mixed in with whatever they use to create fragrance for laundry detergent. Or a plug in room deodorizer at a cheap motel. Something that turns your stomach after you return to your room after the free continental breakfast to pack your bags, but you ate too much because it was free and you ate too fast because you over slept and the buffet was ending and now you only have an hour to pack up and get out, and the damn plug in deodorizer is making you nauseous and it’s too hot in the room and all you want to do is take a nap before you have to get on a plane and sit with some kid kicking the back of your seat for the next 7 hours while you watch significantly edited not so blockbuster movies as in flight entertainment.That is what this stuff smells like. And I cannot get that scent out of my nose!It does not smell like a young-ish early twenty’s girl than has a deep farmers tan in a weird pattern, but you cant really tell if she actually does have a tan or if she is just really dirty because her hair is all tangly and all her clothes are earth toned and knit out of yarn and are all just layered halves of pieces of clothes, like a open backed yard knit half shirt and some kind of canvas 3/4 length pants with really wide legs and the bottoms are frayed and you only ever see her around sunset but she’s never really going anywhere but you seem to run into her all the time, but she’s never broke, she’s just chillen’, and she’s got some tattoos and none of them have any color or reason, they are all black and just like squiggles or circles. And she’s always a little bit standoffish so you never really know what her deal is but she’s beautiful and quiet and never actually trying to get your attention so that makes you want to pay more attention to her because she literally does not care what anyone else is doing, shes just walking around, reading Steinbeck or learning how to forge swords or speak Latin or something and has a doll head collection and lives in a very small pod of airstream trailers in a dusty lot somewhere and there’s just random appliances laying out in the yard and no one has fixed the door of the fridge laying in the yard and some kid is going to get stuck in there someday if someone doesn’t take care of that.That is what Amber is supposed to smell like.Don’t buy this oil unless you like going on vacation to another country and staying and at all inclusive hotel that you never leave.

I feel like this FO is a good "intro to amber" fragrance for those not quite acclimated to resinous scents since it's a little bit perfumey and not particularly musky or earthy. I think it definitely does a really good job at adding depth to fragrance combinations too. I combined this with their Freesia FO and it really adds body to the floral.

I have bought many bottles of essential/fragrance oils on Amazon from various brands and the P&J Brand oils are the best I've come across so far. They are somewhat more expensive than the many of the other popular brands but it's a quality oil that is strong enough that you don't have to use half the bottle in a single candle, they smell authentic and the throw is good. Have decided to slowly keep buying different scent of P&J oil instead of throwing money away on cheap oils that are weak and smell bad.
