RFID system for a good price!
This is the 2 pack RFID RC522 module for the Arduino. The RC522 reads cards with a 13.56MHz frequency. This product comes with both straight and angled Berg connectors, depending on the application. The video shows one of them in operation with an SSD1306 OLED and an 8 relay module. The relay is normally hooked up to a door latch solenoid (not pictured). When the correct card is read, the relay triggers the solenoid, and the door is unlocked. The wrong card keeps the door closed and sends an SMS to security. You can use these modules to control/restrict/monitor access. You can use them (like I will later), to trigger a hidden compartment for an escape room. You have a few ideas. Now order your own set and let's see what you do!

Worked perfect
You do need to solder the header onto the board. If you have never soldered before you should buy a kit with soldering gun and solder (here is a basic one: https://smile.amazon.com/LDK-Soldering-Adjustable-Temperature-Replacement/dp/B083L8BXRC/ref=sr_1_12?dchild=1&keywords=soldering+iron+kit&qid=1586384692&sr=8-12). It works good at a reasonable price.

Worked mostly well, 1 of 2 functioned
Currently using these RC522 sensors with an ECP8266 NodeMCU unit, programming using the Arduino IDE. 1st unit worked well and functioned with all the cards/fobs provided. 2nd unit would not read cards. Power LED activates on the sensor but I cant get any readings back from it. Ran through some tests online as to which led me to believe that its a dud. Would be a great buy if both functioned.

Does not wor! Maube that's why It's discontinued?
I didn't like the fact that it only worked on "Python", but after installing, it worked as promised. But, if I had "C" source, I could do a lot more with it. BUT... After I put it aside for a few months, I cannot get it working any more. RS232 board doesn't seem to be compatible. Some the pin id's are different than the RS232 interface board and when I connected direcly to the PI bus, and tried the Python this sime, it gave me protection errors for which there is no information on how to fix, that I could find.
