can you use them in coloring books?

I use these vivid alcohol-based markers for my 'adult' coloring books which are popular today. Yes, they bleed thru the paper, so I put 3-4 sheets of blank office paper between pages so it won't affect the next page's illustration in the book (if there is only one illustration per page, not two illustrations front and back). The ink only really gets on the first sheet of office paper, but I have extra just in case. Not a big deal for me. And I actually think it looks neat on the back of the finished illustration, like a batik, since you don't see the lines you colored in on the back. So I think it's like getting two colored illustrations from one, lol! And adding a few sheets of paper in between illustrations helps prevent indents into following pages from using the markers (or color pencils). But, if it's for a child, get them some basic markers. For doing something you care about then these markers are great! I've had great success with alcohol-based markers, they are vivid and blend well, but some people like water based, just have to be more gentle on the paper with water based. Hope this helps!

Can these be stored standing up or do they need to be laying down flat?

Don't know if they can be stored standing up, but my daughter keeps them laying flat . I store most markers and fountain pens flat.

do these markers have a chisel at one end and a fine tip at the other, or are the the set with a brush at one end ?

It is a chisel at one end and a fine point at the other. If you do a web search of prismacolor markers it will show you a picture of the tips.

Hello!.prismacolor this is a pack of 72 brushed tip or chisel?  cuz in the description sayd that is brushed but the profile image looks like chisel!

Sanford makes the Prismacolors in two styles: both have bullet tips on one end, but one style has a thick chiseled tip on the opposite end, while the other style has a foam brush.  Prismacolor distinguishes them by putting either PM (for Prismacolor Marker) before the color number on the pen cap, or PB (for Prismacolor Brush) along with a wave-like squiggle.  The marker labels differ, also:  both styles have a narrow line on the end with the bullet tip. The PM has a wide line on its opposite end, so users knows that's the wide chisel tip; the PB has a wavy line to indicate the brush end. Hope that clears things up.
