Authentic Made in Venice Italy Italian Art Glass ORIGINAL AUTHENTIC MURANO MURRINE GORGEOUS LARGE RIALTO COLORFUL VASE is new and entirely hand made and decorated near Venice, Italy on the Island of Murano. Measures approximately 8 3/4 " high. Because each Murano Glass piece is a unique work of art made by hand, slight variations of colors, patterns and measurements are possible. Millefiori is a glasswork technique which produces distinctive decorative patterns on glassware. The millefiori technique involves the production of glass canes or rods, known as murrine - please view the last photo, with multicolored patterns which are viewable only from the cut ends of the cane. A murrine rod is heated in a furnace, pulled until thin while still maintaining the cross section's design, and then cut into beads or discs when cooled.
