Big value in a little banjo
I bought this little dude two and a half years ago, but waited to write my review. Outstanding intonation after I replaced the strings. Unfortunately, the tuning pegs are the weakest link. They started getting sloppy after about six months. I'd never played banjolele or uke, or banjo until I purchased this. It was a therapy goal of mine to learn a new skill. I've gotten sooo freakin good! Little banjo buddy has held up well, other than the crappy tuners. It's still playable and remains in tune, now that my new strings are broken in. I love this little fella! After 2.5 years, I still play everyday. I'd recommend purchasing a capo for this. Playing in the same key, at different places on the neck, this guy shows versatility. This is a pretty versatile instrument. Whether playing rhythm in a Dixieland band or singing the hymn at my gramma's funeral, this banjo can wail! Excellent value, excellent experience. God bless and Go Ducks!

Great little friend, but missing the paperwork
This is a very sweet little addition to my fun collection of instruments. It comes without the bridge installed, which is smart for this kind of instrument to avoid damage during shipping. But, there is a very obvious guide of where to place in under the strings and after loosening the strings a little, the bridge popped in very easily. I didn't pay close enough attention when ordering and thought I was getting an open back, but it isn't. I may try to remove it and see if it's nicely finished inside. I was amazed at how many things are included with this little gem, considering the price! Strap, picks, pic up, head tuner, intonation tuner, an extra set of strings, emery cloth(I'm thinking possibly to use on the frets?)... The G string tuning peg is slipping a little and I'll have to see if it needs to be replaced or not. Yes, as I heard in some of the reviews, the frets are a little sharp, but living in dry Colorado, that's a common problem with new instruments that were made in more humid climates. This baby was made in China. It's been enough of a problem with multiple instruments that my husband bought a little kit to fix the problem! One complaint is that there was an empty plastic bag attached to the outside of the instrument box(inside of the shipping box), so instructions and understanding of the parts isn't possible. Because I have other instruments, I'm not lost. But, it would be nice to know how to use the pick up that is provided. I would recommend this purchase to anyone at any age. It will make you happy if you spend some focused time on it, I'm sure. Banjo is always happy!.. and it will be a good travel instrument, too! Enjoy!

Great sound!
I really like my Kmise banjolele. The sound is classic banjo in a concert size uke. I love the white head and wooden body. The strap works nicely and the gig bag is handy to take my banjolele in the road! The set up was easy. The strings settled in nicely sooner than I expected. This is my second banjolele and I much prefer my Kmise than other brand. Don’t hesitate to buy this instrument if you are looking for a great sounding fun size banjo.

This banjolele is my favorite thing!
I’m not an expert professional or a performer so I didn’t want to buy a top quality expensive banjolele but I was pleasantly surprised with this one! It feels heavy and sturdy not cheap. The pegs and tuner are plastic but they’re solid and they work. The gold logo is coming off but I’m not mad about it. The strap is a little weird where it clips onto the bottom but it’s ok. The case is nice and sturdy, maybe a little tight but it zips up and protects it. The pick up is probably really cheap but I’ve never had one before so I think it’s really cool! You can use it on any other instruments you have, too (you need an amp for it to work) Using this, you can plug your banjolele into an I-rig and play with distortion ;) All in all, this a is a great sounding little banjolele that I am extremely satisfied with! No problem with shipping either

Great little Banjo-Uke
I bought this for my 9 year old grand son and he loves it. It is easy to set up and play. You only have to install bridge, but it comes with easy instructions. Haven't tried the electric pickup yet. Only draw back are the cheap quality strings that stretch badly and will take a while to keep in tune. Do yourself a favor, and purchase some quality banjo-uke strings that will hold tune better. This seems to be a quality built instrument for the money, and is easy for any musician level to handle. Great looking and great price. My son is an accomplished musician, and he was impressed with the quality of this instrument. Very satisfied with it.

Not For Beginners
UPDATE: I still stand by my statement that beginners should pass on this. BUT, this could be a fun instrument for intermediate and advanced players. It took me close to an hour to make the adjustments necessary for this instrument to be playable. Once I got all the strings off, the tuning peg for the A string was the only one that was loose. Once I opened it up, I noticed there was quite a bit of debris that was most likely accumulated from the machining process. That's a QC issue with the company that made the tuners although I feel that whomever assembled the instrument should have caught it and corrected. Overall, I think it's a decent buy for the price. Yes, I had to spend some time to make it playable, but now that it's set up properly, I'm happy with it. I will probably still replace the tuners somewhere down the road but once I had a look at the guts, it doesn't seem to be as urgent as I had originally thought. If it had come out of the box in this condition, I would have rated it a 4 or 5, but with the time I had to put into it, the broken strap button, and my initial disappointment from how it came out of the box, I have to give it a 3. First of all, this instrument is not for beginners. It's a beautiful instrument but it requires too much work out of the box for a beginner. Things went wrong right away. Loved the look of the strap and the material BUT it takes some work to get the buttons through the holes to the point where the brad on one of the buttons broke trying to get it through the hole. It actually made it possible to get it through the hole and then crimped it back in place with pliers. It seems to be holding well for now. You'll learn the value of stretching your strings with this instrument. It was impossible to tune out of the box. At first, I thought maybe the electronic tuner was junk but I tried it on my other ukes and double-checked the tuning with my Snark and the tuner that's included is above average. I sat the instrument down for a few seconds to go grab a capo and the A string broke(which seems to be a recurring theme). That's due to them not being strung properly by the manufacturer, they're wound too tight at the tuning peg. Upside to the A string breaking, it gave me a chance to check the tuning peg. The tuning pegs are junk. Kudos to you if you get one and can keep it in tune. The pegs are too loose and since they're closed, not easy to adjust. I plan to swap them out with a set of quality, open-gear pegs. I'm giving this a one-star so people will read the review but I would actually rate it 2 stars. As mentioned earlier, it is a beautiful instrument, has great sound, and the wood grain is gorgeous. With a little work and $10-$20 for better parts, I think I can turn it into a 4 star instrument. And the pickup that is included is a decent little pickup. If you're a beginner, this is not the instrument for you. Spend a little more money and get a Gold Tone Little Gem or a base level Oscar Schmitt. They're not that much more expensive but will be less hassle for you out of the box. If you decide to go ahead and give it a try, I recommend re-stringing it before you do anything else. Replace the tuners if needed and enjoy.

An Easy Transition
I am pleased with this banjolele. It is inexpensive, easy to set up, and sounds good. If you are already a ukulele player, the transition to this banjolele is really easy. The tuning is the same so chords are the same and notes are in the same place on the frets. This is an easy way of getting a whole different type of sound.

Banjolele
El banjo es precioso. Tiene el tamaño de un ukulele concierto. Yo nunca había tocado un banjo, así que no sé que tan valida es mi opinión, pero suena muy bien y me parece de buena calidad. Trae todo lo que dice la imagen.

Grreat banjo uke..
It is a great instrument, however for me I prefer the tenor size, I have a tenor already and that size was unfortunately out of stock. That is the only reason I returned it. For the price great value 10/10

Excellent banjolele
Great quality for an Amazon instrument! Looks and sounds like an expensive, quality banjolele! Loved that it came with a cool strap and with felt picks and a pickup. My husband, who bought ot for me, and who is an experienced musician even thought it was surprisingly good for the low price. Just wanted to note, that a reviewer claimed the strings are too close to the instrument to be able to play it. They are not! I suspect that they simply did not install the BRIDGE, which is included in the package and you need to assemble yourself lol. Put the bridge on properly and it plays beautifully. Did not detect any sharp edges that some others mentioned either. I love my banjolele, would recommend it to others!
