Perfect for Crafts
This is such a great value for such an effective knife. It's definitely very sharp and easy to use. It has a good grip and good weight on it so that you feel it sturdy while using it. I've used it for small details too and the sharp little tip is great at focusing on these little craft details without any issues. Good
Great for projects that are in need of precise cutting. I did not need to use and was disappointed that returns didnโt have free shipping.

Buy the real thing
Tried one of the Temu replacements, you get three for a cheaper price. Unfortunately part of it was plastic and the threads stripped when you tightened the blade. I have used exacto before years ago and never had a problem. Cost more but it works because all parts are aluminum.

Precision cutting - even through thick cardboard
My daughter is working on school project. She has to make a diorama. She decided that it needed to be bigger than a shoebox size so we had to take a bigger cardboard box and cut it down to size. Then we had to cover it with paper and cut out windows and a door and make other cuts. I really was not sure how we were going to go about doing this. I made some of the bigger cuts with a knife and that was okay but I knew that to make the cuts to the windows and the doors we were going to need something that worked better. Then I remembered that when I was younger my brother made some models out of balsam wood and he used an x-acto knife to do the cuts. When I was researching different options I saw that there was a number 1 blade and a number 2 blade. I opted for this one, the number 2 blade because I wanted something a bit more heavy duty to handle the cardboard (which was, in a couple of places, double thick due to how he box was constructed). The x-acto knife is very sharp - too sharp for my daughter to do these cuts herself - so I had to do it. It worked great! Nice clean precision lines that cut through everything. My only complaint is that when trying to cut through some very thick parts the blade kept falling out. Once it got stuck in the cardboard itself and a couple times it just fell out and fell to the side. I was able to pick it up and put it back in but even though I was trying to tighten the blade in as much as possible it kept happening. I think it is because the blade was no longer as sharp at that point and/ or because I was trying to cut through something so thick that it was at the limit of what the blade could handle. In either event, after I got the blade in I was able to keep going. And, when I tried to cut through something thinner after that it did not fall out again. The blade comes with a cap which I think is extremely important. No one wants to stick their hands in a drawer and get stabbed or cut with something as sharp as this. It is essentially a razor blade with a handle! All in all, if you have a project and you need to cut through cardboard, paper, fabric, and other products like that and you want to have precision cuts then this is for you.

Great for Crafts
This is super sharp. Admittedly I've cut myself a few times, but I'm a clumsy loser. It does cut well, and it's easy to clean. The grip on the handle means it doesn't slip easily, and it has nice weight. The blade is removable, so it can be swapped with others, and it has a nice lid, with little wings on either side so it doesn't roll around. I use it every day and haven't seen any dulling yet. It leaves sharp, smooth lines on anything I use it for, and I never have to cut twice. I'm very happy with it. The little tip means I can do teeny tiny details without worrying about squishing anything.

Should've bought this a long time ago.
My main contribution to this review pool is simply to get this original, don't go with copied handles from other manufacturers. For the past 15 years, I've used an X-Acto knife and handle at work, and I rarely have problems (such as the blade collet loosening). For the past five years, I've been using a Harbor Freight knockoff at home, and I've had numerous mishaps, some leading to finger injuries, because the holder won't keep the blades locked into place. Amazon happened to list this on Prime Day this year, so I bought it on a whim. Now that I've been using it, I say again from my review headline: I should've bought this a long time ago. This handle is superior to the Harbor Freight knockoff in every way (Hey, don't get offended, Pittsburgh brand fans, I have some Harbor Freight hand tools that go toe to toe with tools costing three times as much). I've yet to have a blade move in the handle's collet, and despite not having an ergonomic handle, I feel much more in control when using this knife over the knockoff. Bottom line: If you're needing an X-Acto knife, just pay up for this one. In my experience, cheaper or more extravagant knife kits just don't have the necessary quality that this knife has.

Cut Away Boys!
Up until now, I have always used single-edge razor blades or mat-board cutters to cut stencils. Whilst this might work well enough on thick paper for stencils, the finished product (the stencil) is not long-lived. But when using stencil film, razor and matt-board blades are extremely difficult to use. The X-ACTO #@ knife is very sharp and works very well, even on the smallest stencil designs. In fact it is so sharp one should be extra careful of not applying too much pressure whilst cutting. I also love the price. Great product. You cannot lose if you buy this item.

X-Acto No. 2 Knife & Blade
The blade is excellent in that it is extremely sharp, and the No. 2 knife's "handle" being larger than the standard makes it easier to hold. Sadly, there were two marks on the blade, on the top (not the cutting side), which looked like those water marks you sometimes see on SS cutlery, but you just polish it off with wire that is round. This I did, but when I ran my fingernail over the marks, there was an indentation. I asked if I could just have a replacement blade, but no, I had to return the complete knife. The X-Acto knife is really worth your spend. I want it to cut 100% cotton watercolour paper, 356 gsm, and it is extremely sharp, which means it is safer to use.

Sicherheitsaufsatz fehlt!
Das Messer ist sehr scharf und liegt gut in der Hand! Einen Stern muss ich leider abziehen, da bei mir die Schutzkappe nicht dabei war und sich die Verpackung von der abgebildeten unterscheidet!
