This came packaged okay but I suspect it often doesn't arrive in tact. It was just in a bag. It didn't even have bubble wrap around it. Never the less it arrived undamaged. No nicks, dents or loose product and is cruelty free. Okay. I have sensitive skin and I mean sensitive skin. Somebody else has a break out on their face and mine will do the same within 24 hours out of sympathy. This cleanser blew me away with how gentle it is with my skin. It was strange at first because I have never used a soap that didn't foam up. I didn't realize it was a no-foaming product when I bought it. I seem to be in good company based on other peoples reviews. They should probably mention it in their advert but don't currently do not. It takes some getting used to. It also doesn't have a light feeling to it. It's on the heavier side and a little goes a very long way. It's not greasy but if you have oily skin already..which I do..it feels a bit like it is. My face isn't more oily so there's that but it might be better to steer clear of it if you aready have oily skin. I think it would be marvelous on overly dry skin. As far as cleaning power goes that's not really great either. It takes off makeup but I have to scrub my skin in order for it to come clean. I don't want a lot of scrubbing because that can be damaging to the skin. Setting that aside it is working some kind of magic as my skin has become nearly blemmish free. It looks more evened out and the few dry areas I did have are all gone too (Did I mention the product is oily..lol). Overall, I like the product. I think it's a good price point and its obviously doing something for other people based on the good reviews. I'll continue using it and enjoying the brands benefits.

I absolutely love this face wash. I've repurchased it at least 10 times over the past year or so. My skin type is combination/oily (oily on the T-zone, relatively normal every where else). I also have very sensitive skin that breaks out very easily. I have some dark spots left from scarring from previous breakouts but it's clearing up with time. The reason why I love this face wash is because it's very gentle and it's very basic. I have tried so many different face washes before and they were all too harsh and would always break me out. Ever since switching to this face wash (and also greatly minimizing animal products from my diet), I have noticed that I hardly break out anymore and even when I do, it's very minimal. I have also mentioned that this face wash is very basic which I personally love. It doesn't claim to do much--just cleans your face. It won't take make up off. At least I don't feel like it would do that great of a job. It's enough to just remove excess oil, dirt, etc. I don't like products that claim to do a million things and don't deliver. This claims that it will gently clean your face and it does. I know some people have mentioned that it burns their face but to me I've only felt that sensation a few number of times out of the hundreds of times I've used it and even when I did, it wasn't anything unbearable or even uncomfortable. The cleanser has a gel-like/creamy consistency and doesn't lather. I use 1-2 pumps in the morning and 2 pumps in the evening. There are two things I don't like about this product and they are what keep it from being a five-star product in my opinion. The first is that I know Neutrogena has certain lines in their skin care that don't do animal testing (the Naturals line, I believe, doesn't do animal testing) and so it would be great if they eliminated animal testing from all their products. The other thing I don't like about this product is how little it lasts. I feel like I buy a new bottle every month or two. But I really do think it's worth the money and I don't see myself switching cleansers anytime soon. Overall, I love it and I would definitely recommend it.

I’ve tried many, many prestige and drug store brands of face cleansers labeled “gentle” — including Dermalocica, Clinique, The Ordinary, and Cetaphil — that left my face feeling dry and irritated. So far, only this Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Face Cleanser Creamy formula (not foaming!) and the Exuviance Gentle Cream Cleanser worked well for me. While the Exuviance cleanser has an overall nicer feel, this Neutrogena cleanser is much cheaper and works just as well. Highly recommend it! Though heads up: There’s a big difference between Neutrogena‘s foaming vs creamy formula. The foaming formula dried out and irritated my face.

Love this product and my first time trying it. No breakouts, felt so gentle on my very sensitive and allergy prone skin. My skin has been very dry and was searching for something new and this was it. Only issue is the pump didn’t pop up and so it doesn’t work, which makes it annoying to use. Product is still great tho.

I ordered this Neutrogena face wash because I needed to reorder another type from this brand, and I saw this and wanted to give it a try. You really don't need much, and I feel like I use too much when I wash my face it will take practice for me not to use a full pump. It seems to work well for me and it's a decent sized pump. It's easier to deal with versus opening a cap everyday so I like that. It seems to work for my sensitive face and not cause my skin to dry out or break out. I did have some sunburn on my face when I used it once which it irritated it, but other than that I'm happy with it, thank you.

This item has a surprisingly low EWG rating, a 2 in fact. To help put things in perspective it beats out Burts Bees, The Face Shop and some other "natural" brand facial cleansers in stores that have 4 or 5 ratings. And it really is a good cleanser, not too drying, your face feels silky and it's all at a good price point but somehow the smell is absolutely dreadful. The first time I unscrewed the top to smell it my first thought was "It smells like plastic". It's cloying, vaguely chalky and powerful. Obviously this is problematic when you intend to wach your face with it daily. Happily it doesn't hang around long after washing and it is very faint, but it does linger for about 5 min. I really wouldn't mind if returns were allowed, but given the nature of the product, but if you buy this without knowing it's pretty annoying. So for smell it's off 1.5 stars and the other half star for no returns. It's an ok product that could benefit from fragrance but that would probably just undermine it's ecological value. If you do decide to go through and get it, I reccomend a nice smelling moisturiser afterwards.

My favorite face wash! No dyes, no added fragrance, and so gentle for the skin.

I’ve been using this product for over a year and a half now after I had a particularly bad case of what appeared to be rosacea on my face. (I have not had an official diagnosis of rosacea but it certainly looked like rosacea.) This occurred when I was under a lot of stress due to an alarming medical diagnosis. I think my anxiety over the medical issue triggered the skin problem. A friend who has suffered from rosacea for years noticed the eruptions on my face and told me what she does for her rosacea. She told me not to use soap and to use something for sensitive skin that is free of soap. The product that she uses was quite expensive. So I looked around to see what else might work and found the Neutrogena Hydrating Facial Cleanser which cost much less than the product that she uses. No soap for my face any more! I have been using Neutrogena Hydrating Facial Cleanser regularly since then. At first I was using it twice a day, morning and evening. Currently I use it just in the morning. I have been very happy with the results. Even before the very visible skin issue that I experienced a year and a half ago, I had had small eruptions for many years that I wondered about as to whether they were due to rosacea but they were too minor for me to ask my doctor to make an official diagnosis. Using the Neutrogena product, I am now pleased not to have those small eruptions and thrilled not to get a recurrence of that major eruption. My skin has been sensitive to fragrances in ingredients before these recent problems so I had used hypoallergenic soaps previously and continue to use those when I am taking a shower but do not use them on my face. I no longer use any soap on my face. I do rinse my face well after massaging it with the Neutrogena cleanser just on the slight chance that there might be something in it that could cause any skin problem. After wetting my face, I gently massage a small amount onto my face for 60 seconds and then gently rinse very well. This works for me. The photos I've uploaded are a "before" image from 2019 and a recent photo showing how my face looks now.

I loved this product so much for it has changed my skin tone for the better and made the dark spots lighter and I don't regret having purchased it thanks so much

Cleanser is gentle...but not sure if it works well. Hard to tell because of the texture. Prefer the "foaming formula" version.
