This is a very interesting map of the U.S. which shows where the American Indian tribes are located. It is not a standard size, so framing it is a bit of a challenge. However, I took it to a local craft store and found black metal picture frame pieces in all sizes that can be assembled to create a custom picture frame. Since I wanted to keep the cost down, the man, who worked in the picture frame department, told me he could use the custom picture frame pieces and mount the map on a rigid board which would eliminate the need for glass or a mat. I had him do this for me, and I am very pleased with the result. And the cost for framing the map in this manner cost a total of $26, which I think is a real bargain.

This is a great map for young aboriginal children to not only discover who and where their people come from, it also displays images of copper-colored people across the maps. For my young ones to see a physical representation of themselves next to their ancestral tribes really brings a whole other level of self-worth, self-respect, and empowerment to the whole family. Our children are the future, so it's good that they know their past so that history will not repeat itself! I highly recommend this product.

Surprised by the number of tribes in the US. I have an interest in this subject and this map answered my questions.

The map is wonderful. colors and printed matter are clear

Thick yellowish paper. I really like it. It's interesting. I put it in a poster frame and hung it. People always spend a good amount of time looking at it when they come over.

I purchased this map to use for our Native American studies for next school year. It is printed on heavy, thick paper, which makes this map durable. To my untrained eye, it appears to be an accurate map of where Native Americans lived. My only complaint was that I purchased the 16"x24" size and ordered a 16"x24" poster frame for it. Upon opening the box, I discovered the poster is actually 17"x25" and had to trim it to fit. Just be aware of this if you do not want to trim it. Overall, great purchase!

I am student teaching in a 5th grade class and order this map to help my students make the connection that there were numerous unique Native tribes prior to European contact— although there are many things on the map post contact so it will be handy in future lessons as well. I love that this map has pictures as this helps engage the kids. However, the number of tribes is not exhaustive. I’m also less than thrilled that it is labeled “American Indian Tribes”.. but I will use it as a teachable moment to discuss the term and why we are not going to use it.
