Sturdy and takes my Amazon Basics D cell chargeable batteries. Cheap and cheerful with sufficient, if not massively bright light. OK for walking around a dark double garage and seeing what you need to.

Torches nowadays seem to be metal cased with swivelling focus, powerful beams which light an couple of feet circle in front of you and have multiple types of flashing. All I wanted was a basic plastic torch with a wide beam to keep in a pocket, for use when walking the dog at night and be able to hold in my mouth while fiddling with poo bags. This is exactly right. Small, uses 2 AA batteries (not included, but most people have these lying around), lightweight with a rubber coasting and a single Button to turn the torch on and off. Not the most powerful light in the world, but it gives a good spread with a brighter centre to mimic the old torches with a tungsten bulb. In fact it seems designed to mimic the large rubber touches of old, and that's a good thing. Perfect pocket torch.
