Pricey, but does the job and packs away in small box
Assembly and break down is a breeze. I can do it in under 5 minutes no problem. I put it back in box to store in RV. The legs have to be at the right angle to insert the pins, but then it is pretty solid. With legs all the way up, I put between RV and car with no room to walk between and connected to satellites over car with no problem. I used a gallon jug of water on bungee cord to weigh down stand and cable locked dish to RV. The stand is little pricey for what it is, but does what it is made to do. You can always build something yourself, but with any RV, room is of the essence, and the box it comes in is pretty small. Overall I am happy with my purchase of this stand.

Winegard stand.
Good stand. Works as should.

Playmaker Dual fit perfect.
Received the stand within a few days of the order.Everything about this was Winegard quality.Following the included instructions, the assembly was fast. The rubber mounts went into the antenna easily. Then, a slight counter clockwise twist, and it locked onto the tripod. I adjusted the leg length to give the antenna a good stable stance over a plactic jug of water i used as an anchor. Hooked the included bungee to the base and the the jugs handle and it felt firm enough to sustain the light breeze and hold tracking to the satelite. The tripod came apart in reverse order and it all packed back into the cardboard box for the next time i set up.Thanks.

If you are using for DISH Tailgater.... you might want to read this one.
OVERPRICED. OVERPRICED. OVERPRICED.Okay, now that's out of the way. It is a nice tripod. Removing the legs doesn't bother me too much. Other reviews want folding legs which would make it flat, however, that would give you three legs pointing in opposite directions and you would always have to shorten each leg back to it's original length (which is more time consuming than just removing the one pin on each leg). For NEWER models of the DISH Tailgater this will not work right out of the box. I just purchased the Winegard tripod and the tailgater bundle. You must also call King Controls and order the $10 plus shipping foot kit with self tapping screws to be able to set the tailgater on the tripod and twist it to lock it in place. My tailgater came with thin rubber stick on feet that line up with the holes in the tripod but there's no way to twist lock it in place. I called King and for about $18 w/shipping (SHOULD BE INCLUDED WITH TAILGATER) I'll soon be able to attach my tailgater antenna to my tripod.TIP: Remove the thin rubber padded foot (double sided adhesive) and if you have a hole in the center of the rubber foot location, then the $10 kit with self tapping screws will work. If you remove the thin rubber pad and there's no hole, there's no way (short of custom modifications) to make it compatible. The directions for attaching your tailgater to the ladder rack made by King shows the exact steps on page 4 to install the feet. Same steps for the tripod. These directions are on King Control's website under accessories, then ladder mount, then owner's manual/instructions.

Winegard TR-1518 Carryout Gray Tripod Mount
I had already purchased the Winegard GM-MP1 Carryout MP1 Manual Portable Satellite Antenna, I felt I needed a stand or something to get it up off of the ground. I have only set the two up togather in the back yard by our travel trailer. Everything set up very easily, the Winegard Portable Satellite Antenna twist locks into the Tripod Mount for increased security. I had everything setup and a signal on the TV in a matter of minutes! My wife was very surprised. I have been using the typical metal tube tripod with a 18" dish on top for some 14 years, so I'm pretty familiar with setting up a satellite antenna. I have to say, so far anyway, The Winegard TR-1518 Tripod Mount and the Winegard Portable Satellite Antenna are a fantastic combination. They weight half that of my old setup and require half the room for storage. We're going on a week long camping trip this coming week, so I'll get a better feel for how easy it is to use in a real camping situation. The only con, I might have, is that the tripod is very well built, but the legs need to lock into the base more securely. With the combo being so light you have to use the anchor equipment just to keep the setup from wobbling. Otherwise a very good produce. Buy it!!!!PS; Back from one week vacation. Got to set up my new Winegard TR-1518 Tripod Mount and the Winegard Portable Satellite Antenna four time with no problems. Great products and very good prices and I have more storage room in my travel trailer!

Will work with tailgater and very stable
For all those who are asking about the Dish tailgater mounting to this tripod I will give my experience on how I did this. For the tailgater to work with this you must call Winegard and order a qty of 2 foot kits part number RP-GM05. These kits are not available from the website so you must call to order them they are $5 each. Each kit comes with 2 spacers 2 rubber feet and 2 1/4-20 locknuts. the kit does not come with a 1/4-20 threaded post that you will need to install into the bottom of the tailgater. I bought 4, 1/4-20 bolts from the hardware store and cut the heads off and screwed them into the holes located on the bottom of the tailgater then installed the feet kits. The tailgater lined up perfectly with the locking holes on the tripod and locked in very securely. Aside from that I was very happy with the stability of this unit. We were at the lake and I set this unit up. It was very windy that weekend with gusts reaching 50Mph at times. the tripod never moved an inch and I didn't even screw in the ground coil in. For me this product worked out extremely well.

Great satellite stand!
NICE! Just what I needed to mount my satellite antenna on while camping in our RV. Keeps it very stable and right where itโs needed. This one is more expensive than others, but it is much better made than many.

Good start but...
I like the fact I don't have to hang my dish network antenna in the window with it. However more attention needs to be paid on details. Was very hard getting the plate to legs pins in, only took half an to get 3 pins and a gentle tap. They don't line up very well. Once that was done, needed to turn the stand and dish over in order to get the dish and plate to line up. So, it's a trip pod for the dish antenna, yes, but not sure I will continue to use it and thinking returning soon. I don't want to spend the better part of an hour getting it set up.

Winegard TR 1518 Carryout Tripod Mount
I purchased this item to go with my Winegard GM 1518 Carryout Satelite. It just works great & keeps my GM 1518 off the ground, set-up was very simple, the buttons on the legs were a little strong to push in, however with the wife's help it was easy! This unit is very light but strong & will not rust if it gets wet. I did a lot of shopping around & found that prices vary the highest more than a $150.00, you offered the very best price & you also included free shipping to Alberta, that was a great plus. However in my opinion the unit is still a little overpriced. I am still very happy. Thank you Winegard & Amazon.

Great value works perfect

Easy to assemble after a bit of practice
The Winegard TR-1518 portable satellite dish stand is made of high quality painted steel and works well. it takes a little while to set up the first time as you have to learn how to line up the holes in the legs with the holes in the base while inserting the locking pins at the same time. Over all i am very happy with this purchase.
