Best in class product design and customer service
I bought my Shark Navigator over four years ago. Itโs been effective and easy to use and maintain ever since. Last week, the roller brush stopped spinning. Still plenty of suction, but no brush action. I called Shark seeking troubleshooting guidance. After ruling out a couple of possibilities, the part was determined to be defective and the agent immediately shipped a replacement brush unit as well as new filters under warranty. Unfortunately, the new part didnโt work either, so I called back. That agent decided the whole vacuum was defective and shipped a brand new vacuum under warranty. This is my second Shark vacuum, the first is 15 years old and is still operational and in use on my second floor. Do not hesitate to buy from Shark. They design and manufacture great products and stand behind them like companies rarely do anymore.

Great Suction Even When Detached from the Unit
This is a good vacuum. I purchased it because I have hardwood floors and I got tired of sweeping and watching the broom collect hair and dust that I have to keep removing. In addition, I have a nice amount of space to keep clean, and sweeping all day with a broom is not the most efficient way to spend my time ๐. It's a little heavy, but the canister detaches which allows you to get those spider webs, suck up trash around the baseboards, and it does a great job on carpet, especially when dust starts collecting near the baseboard and becomes challenging to remove. Anywho, this works for me and it was recommended by a friend. I am happy with it so far, and my house looks like I hired a maid ๐

At a loss for words
Warning, it's a long read, but I wanted to go into deep detail. To start, I have been a Rainbow vacuum user for so long. I love them and felt they worked amazingly. Next, I have 3 dogs & a cat. One is a thick coat lab and the cat sheds so much as well. Another next, I have horrible allergies and wanted something that would help keep them calm as well. I also have a lung disease and need something that will pick up as much junk as possible to keep them clear. Now, on to the Shark vacuum. I got tired of lugging around the Rainbow and wanted to look into a vacuum that my daughter could use and help out. I found this Shark vacuum and 6 others that grabbed my attention. I dug deep. I read through every review, good, bad, indifferent. I wanted a vacuum that was going to truly pick up pet hair/dander, as well as pick up sand & dirt. I was drawn to this specific vacuum saying pet & allergen vacuum and loved that so many of the reviews said it had amazing suction power. I thought there's no way ut can be as amazing as most were raving about. After 2 months of digging and narrowing down vacuums, I was left with this one. I finally decided to purchase it and see what all the fuss was about. It came in today and I immediately out it together to the it out. I had just vacuumed with my Rainbow vacuum 2 days before, so I didn't expect much. Oh....my....gosh...! I am blown away! Seriously, no joke! The picture you see attached was after 2 passes over a 2' x 2' area in my living room. Not kidding...pushed it forward, pulled it back. Did this one other time. I was completely astonished! There is no way my carpet is that dirty after using my Rainbow 2 days before! I swore by that vacuum and how great of a job it did, so I thought. This vacuum pulled out dirt, sand, pet fur from 3 families ago, it seems lol. I immediately took this picture and dumped the resivoir since it was full. I was excited to finish the rest of my living room and then move on to the rest of the house. It took me 30 minutes to vacuum my living room because I had to keep stopping to empty the reservoir. I am grossed out that it was that dirty, but so grateful that I purchased this Shark vacuum. The vacuum is super easy to put together. It's not heavy and is easy to use. I love that it has the large vacuum and the option to break it down to a hand held vacuum to get baseboards and hard to reach areas. I also love that the power switch has 3 positions; Off, Bare floor, and carpet. I love that there is a place on the vacuum for hose attachments. I love that the power cable is quite long. I love that it's compact enough to fit in my coat closet, but large enough to vacuum the living room quicker than the sport vacuum. It makes vacuuming a breeze. The price is amazing for being a Shark vacuum. This vacuum is so amazing that I finished vacuuming, rinsed the resivoir and filter, put it away, and immediately sat down to write this review. Seriously give this vacuum a try! Your only regret is that you didn't get it sooner. I will update this review if anything changes. I am convinced this is the perfect vacuum.

Could be better on hardwood, great for stairs
So I bought this because I hadnโt bought a new vacuum for about 5 years. Right away, the suction was great. I use pine pellet litter for my cats, and while itโs decent at picking it up, it almost feels either a little too big or maybe too heavy for it because it takes a second in order to pick it up. I also noticed that while I went over my dining room, it sorta looked like I hadnโt vacuumed much even though I took a little bit of time with it. However, the suction still felt like it was good so Iโm not sure if itโs just operator error or not. Itโs fairly lightweight and makes about as much noise as any other typical household vacuum does. I have not tried it on high pile carpet yet, but I assume it will work alright because it has some crazy suction while on low pile/area rugs. The lift-away feature is amazing for stairs. I have hardwood stairs with some carpet pieces on top. The carpet pieces get particularly dirty and the vacuum has enough cord in order for me to reach the top of the stairs and get everything. The crevice tool was handy for getting the corners of the stairs and the upholstery tool was good for the hair our cats leave everywhere and I fully cleaned my couch of cat hair with it. Overall, I think itโs a good vacuum, but Iโm not too sure about its ability on hardwood.

Best vacuum Iโve ever purchased.
Iโve gone through a lot of vacuums, having multiple cats and dogs. Only vacuuming once, I can already tell you this is hands down the best one Iโve ever used. I could not believe after vacuuming only part of the living room, the canister was completely full. It was disgusting. I used it on a few rugs and vinyl flooring. You can really feel the suctioning power when using it. Absolutely incredible!! Easy to put together, easy to handle. Amazing price.

Great suction and immediate difference
I had to replace my old vacuum and now Iโm wondering where this one has been all my life. This is a very high powered vacuum with great suction. I donโt have to vacuum the same spot repeatedly, one strike does wonders. After the first use, I realized just how bad my old vacuum was as I emptied the filter and there was so much dirt pulled up that my last vacuum wasnโt getting. Iโve used it quite a few times and I love knowing and seeing that my rug is really clean. It also has the option to clean hardwood floors, which is does just as well. Itโs not heavy and Iโm able to store it easily. This is worth the money. I actually would have paid more for it!

Wonder Vac
Received this Shark vacuum cleaner the next day I ordered it. Put it together and tried it right away, because thus far any vacuum used has not been able to stand up to my dogs bringing the outside into the house. This was like Wonder Vacuum! Picked up anything that I tried. It was not very loud, did not hesitate whether using on hard floor or carpet and not too heavy. Time will tell how it will continue standing up to my giant dogs. So far, very impressed.

Not blowing my skirt up compared to my cordless Shark versions!
I have several 'Shark' vacuums, which began with the small lightweight hard floor vacuum, then graduated to a cordless Shark version, and now a corded. Honestly, the best of the 3 is the cordless. All I needed was an additional battery, which I purchased, so it didn't run out on me before completing the job. But, the only downfall was a lack of enough power to really suck the junk out of cracks and fissures when the battery gets low, as it absolutely loses a lot of power when it's nearly depleted. So I did tons of research on watching various buyers reviews on Shark vacuums before purchasing this one. I thought, what could go wrong when so many rave about this model, right? I'll be honest, there are a lot of things on this model I do not care for!!! First and foremost, it has a different footprint, meaning the 'head' of the unit is an inch too wide so now, I cannot get beneath my bar counter chairs. Secondly, it has too much machine at the bottom preventing me from getting it into corners so I have to nearly dismantle the thing and use the 'nozzle' instead. Honestly, I hate, hate, hate having to stop and change out parts and accessories to do something that normally should be sucked up without a problem (which the cordless, a wonderful thing based on it's design always gets into every corner, beneath every chair, beneath the wine racks without a hitch). Another irritant is the holding tank. OMgosh! I opened this one over the garbage can and this thing literally sprayed residue of dog hair, dust, and other disgusting things all over the can and onto my floor. The cordless canister is smaller, more functional and easy to direct where the debris goes over the garbage can. This unit is every bit as noisy, or noisier than my others. Ergonomically, it's an elephant. Big, bulky, lower bottom weight that is sluggish at best. So that combines with the speed being even more tedious and sluggish. You know it's a moose, especially if you've ever owned the cordless Sharks. The cordless are such a breeze and a joy to use instead. My biggest gripe is weight, as it is a heavy bulky forceful unit and I despise fighting a vacuum. Even more irritating is the lack of additional receptacles. What could it possibly cost a company to ensure all brushes and attachments are included, especially one as financially lucrative as Shark. I have to special order the brushes, the 'beneath the furniture' vacuum attachment that I now need to go beneath my chairs and wine racks, and a couch brush/car brush. Give me a break, Shark!!! Additionally, the suction, though powerful, is like pushing a weighted cart. Yes, the carpet is clean, but I abhor fighting a vacuum's intense suction to achieve it, and there is no height adjustments. As for the good values of this unit...hmmm, it has a very large containment canister albeit hard to control when emptying, the cord is long and that is appreciated. It was easy to put together, and very nicely packaged. Easy to read instructions as well. I really cannot come up with a lot of good about this unit because I've had better quality from their cordless products. This was clearly a step backward. Oh! One last and huge complaint! I have dogs, with lots of long hair. The cordless vacuums are absolutely wonderful with the silicone paddles. I honestly expected that on this unit. Guess what? No paddles. I'm already griping that it won't be long and I'll have to be tipping that unit upside down to snip off the wrapped hair around the wheels. Not a happy person at all. So this will most likely become the next huge paper weight of collectible vacuums. The only positive here is I have a barn with flooring, and I can probably take this out there instead so it's still in use. Beyond that, I will now stop believing all these videos about how great things really are. If I'm not the main star in the video, I refuse to believe the reviews!

Amazing suction power
So far, we love everything about this vacuum. I'm blown away by the power/suction it has. Not only does it pick up everything off of a rug, but also wood and linoleum floors (which is what we have mostly) but we use those vacuum-seal bags to store off-season clothes and linens and it sucks so much more air out sooo quickly! Our old vacuum was so lame compared to this one. But we have a big rug and a runner, and probably getting more rugs later. I like the fact that you can take the small canister off and use the extension wand to clean corners and up above on the ceiling (we have fairly high ceilings). It's also very lightweight and doesn't take up a lot of space. It fits in a cupboard we bought to store it, that is 16"x16"x 6'. We've only had it for a month, but our son and his girlfriend bought the vacuum and I went to look at it before we ordered it and they've had it for a few months and have no complaints about it. I'm really happy we spent a little extra to get this one. We haven't used it a lot, so haven't had to empty the canister yet, but my son showed me how to do it and it looks like a breeze. The other thing, is that it does pull easier than push and we're vacuuming a .5" pile carpet. Of course on the wood/linoleum floors, no problems. The one thing I was not happy about is that I tried to call the Customer Service number 15 min. before their posted closing time and they were closed and when I sent them an email it bounced. I've not yet pursued that, but I will. My son said they had no problems with them when they discovered they were missing one of the brushes and it was sent to them.. We also didn't get the pet brush that was supposed to come with it, but we don't have any pets, so not an issue for us. Overall, I'd say that this is a great product and with the short time we've had it, we like it.

It could not be used as it issued sparks and a smell of burning

Good value at the C$250 price point, some limitations
Suction is good, filter and bagless canister cleaning is easy, weight and handling in open areas is good but in tight spots the full assembly can be a little awkward, in line with other uprights. The upholstery brush has two strips of fabric glued into grooves as the "brush" portion of the nozzle, and these strips can easily be pulled off during routine cleaning, without putting excessive pressure on them. The hose is a bit stiff and short, and using it while the machine is fully assembled and standing on the floor will generally result in tipping the vacuum. It's fine for working with the canister lifted off the floor cleaning head. There is no pile height adjustment, and the floor cleaning brushes are fairly aggressive; this machine removes a lot of carpet fibres from my low-pile nylon carpets. Very glad the brush can be turned off for bare floors.
