Grip strength is important as we age
This little device is a great way to strengthen your grip. I keep mine next to my recliner. While I'm watching TV or reading, I just squeeze it, alternating between right and left hand I have noticed my grip getting stronger. For instance, I can open jars and bottles now that I couldn't open before. As we age, we lose muscle strength. So get one of these and start squeezing!

Well worth your time
Great investment. Has improved my guitar fingering exponentially. I bought the 7lb grip master and it seems well built and definitely worth the investment.

Whatever your reason, this will definitely help grip strength
Great for a fidget/exercise tool at your desk or while idly watching tv. Made well and has even spring pressure. Perfect for normal size hands.

Great for Finger Strength
I got this because I am learning to play guitar and wanted to have something that would allow me to work my fingers individually as well as easily change grips and positions. The individual finger tension is a great way to work out the 'pinkie' which is typically neglected and a pain for stretching to certain chords. For me, this is a much better option than the usual grip strength springs that are out there. I don't have a problem closing my hand, I need individual finger strength. This exerciser allows both. It also has the benefit of allowing you to easily isolate and work your wrist if you want. On a 2 handle spring exerciser, that would be difficult or impossible. The exerciser comes with some exercise examples and you can get more information and exercise examples from their web site. Gripmaster offers several different levels of tension and these are pretty inexpensive, so you can start with light or extra light and work your way up as needed. Medium tension seems to be pretty standard and what you would want if you are an average adult male. I have tried the other lower tension levels and they are a little too easy. I assume they might be useful if you are going for # of reps vs. building strength. I am not an exercise junkie and have no idea if something like that actually matters for fingers. I have purchased other versions of this with lighter tension for female friends of mine and one person going through some physical rehabilitation. They all say they like the exerciser. The heaviest tension seems to be a bit of overkill and I have a harder time pressing that down completely. I suppose if I ever felt the need for a 'power pinkie' (skadoosh!), I could try to work up to that one. This version seems to be working for me as my finger strength does seem to be getting better and the effort needed for me to hammer notes or chords appears to be less. I notice that I am using this less since I am doing better on the guitar at least with getting my fingers down. Really playing is another story. I suspect that soon this will start to collect dust from disuse. However, it was relatively inexpensive and it has been very useful. If I ever want or need it again, I'll have it.

If you Need Finger Strength, Control, Endurance and Coordination, you are in the Right Place
Let me start saying that this is a wonderful product. Small, light, and well constructed (they feel like they will last forever). You can carry them with you, allowing to workout your fingers at the office, at home or wherever you find suitable. I bought the four different color-coded gripmasters: Black/heavy, Red/medium, Blue/light, and Yellow/extra light. I only found the resistance of the red and black ones useful for me, but my wife loves the blue and yellow ones. It was a great buy because of their high quality and affordable price. The product comes with a foldable instruction booklet where you find details for six different exercises: - Trigger pinch. This one simulates the movement of squeezing a trigger, and it isolates the index finger for enhanced strength and coordination. - Gross grasp. This one strengthens fingers, thumb, wrist and forearm for a firm grip. - Hook position. This one strengthens longer muscles in forearm and wrist while stretching smaller muscles in hand for greater motion and endurance. - Tip to tip pinch. This exercise strengthens specific fingers, thumb, smaller hand muscles and forearm for greater control and endurance. - Wrist flexion. It strengthens wrist and forearm muscles. - Key pinch. Strengthens thumb and index finger for greater stability and coordination. At the gripmaster website you can find more exercises for different activities and sports. If you are looking to crush hands when handshaking this is not the product for you, but if you need finger strength, control, endurance and coordination you are in the right place.

Bought this cause I had two problems. - My pinkies were really weak and often got locked in a hyperextended position due to breaking them when I was younger. - My grip strength for deadlifts was really weak, even for an overhand claw grip. SInce this lets you exercise each finger individually I am able to focus on strengthening my poor pinkies. I just leave it near my laptop on my desk and squeeze out a few sets 3 times a week. So far the results have been great. my deadlift strength is much better and no more annoying locked up pinkies. Will be moving to the next tension level soon.

I bought this in order to improve my finger strengh and independance for playing guitar. I had thought of buying one years ago, but my view was - if you want to improve your finger strength and dexterity for guitar, just play guitar, right? But I changed my mind, and decided to give this little device a go, on the grounds that I can use it when I'm NOT able to play guitar (like when I'm at work) and maybe using a device with some resistance might accelerate my finger strengh gains? This is a pleasingly well made unit, and the plastic parts seem to be of high-quality. I decided to go for the red "medium" excerciser, having read some comments here about more reps and lower tension being more beneficial for musicians. When the unit arrived, I was beginning to think I should have gone for the 5lb device instead! The tension initially felt quite strong, particularly on the little finger! Well does it work? in my opinion definitely yes! Having used this device for only about 15 mins a day most days for 3 weeks, I suddenly find that the spring tension feels a lot lower. Also it has transformed my guitar playing! Playing my 12 string acoustic guitar suddenly seems easier, and on my electric, hammers and pulls seem much more accurate and clearer! my speed has improved, and I recently found myself doing vibrato with my little finger, something I don't normally do! So yes, I think it works for Guitarists (and other musicians) and it's quality means that it is good value for the money!

Después de un uso prolongado del mouse empecé a usar este producto y después de 3 años puedo considerarlo una muy buena compra. También viene bien para fortalecer dedos y mejorar la agilidad cuando estas aprendiendo a tocar guitarra o bajo. VENTAJAS: * Buena calidad. * Material ligero y resistente. * Practico para ejercitar los dedos. DESVENTAJAS: * Ninguna relevante.
