I purchased this product on amazon and when it arrived they had sent me the wrong thing, I got the supplement for menopause although the sticker on the bottom did say "macaharmony". I returned it and went to wholefoods to purchase the correct item and I am so glad that I did! I am 26 years old and I had been taking the birth control pill for about 7 years when I decided to stop. I stopped birth control in November of 2014 and the first couple of months actually weren't that terrible. But by March of 2015 pretty much every thing that I had read could start happening to you when your hormones are out of whack had started to happen. I had terrible PMS for almost two whole weeks before my period where I was bloated and completely exhausted and emotionally all over the place. Even when I wasn't PMSing I was crying all of the time and my face, back and chest were breaking out terribly and my outlook on life was not good. I started taking Macaharmony while I was PMSing and got my period like normal that month. Less than two weeks into taking it I was no longer tired all the time or crying about everything and I just felt all around happier and more energetic! I wanted to wait until I got my next period to write a review to see if it continued to help me. I got my period a couple of days ago with no warning at all (other than the app that I use to track my periods). Even when I was on the pill I would have back pain a day or two before my period and I would be easily aggravated. That did not happen at all this month. My cramps were lighter and my mood is fantastic! I basically cannot even tell that I am on my period at all which has never happened to me! I have always had terribly cramps my first day and then sort of low grumbling cramps for the next two. This month I only had cramps for the first couple of hours which were easily remedied with ibuprofen. My face is starting to clear up a little bit but my back and chest are still breaking out pretty bad. My acne is literally the only symptom I have left from coming off of birth control. I know that this can take longer to clear up and balance itself out but I did also just order Vitex to see if that will help at all as I have read that taking the two together after coming off of birth control can help. Over all I am amazed that this has helped me so much in such a short amount of time! I wish I had known about this years ago! I have never been happier with a product and am sure my results will only get better in the coming months. I would recommend this to every woman!! If you're even just considering trying this just do it! You will not be sorry!

I'm almost 31 years old and I've had horrible acne since I was 17. When I was in my early 20's I also developed eczema on my face and neck, which looked like pimples that were always oozing and spread like a rash. It itched and burned, too. The only times I have been acne and eczema free since age 17 were while I was nursing. But after I stopped nursing or got pregnant again, my skin problems would return. I'm just about to turn 40 and have been experiencing SEVERE PMS symptoms - not just for a week - but for the ENTIRE time in between cycles. SEVERE mood swings, body ache, headache, flulike symptoms. The reason the doctor recommended this brand to my girlfriend (since there are a lot of Maca products out there) is that if you read the info in the box, this brand uses certain strains that don't bother your tummy. I guess a lot of Maca powders can make gassy and cause stomach upset. Never had a problem taking this. Also, maca does energize, so I wouldn't take a second pill after about 2 p.m. cause it can make it difficult to fall asleep at night if you take it too late.

I hope every female out there with PCOS sees this post and tries this product! I have had irregular periods since they started, at age 12. I was put on birth control at age 14 and took it for about ten years in order to regulate my cycle and control my acne. I started to have difficulty with the birth control and was getting hormone-related migraines around that time of the month. So horrible that my OBGYN sent me to a neurologist and tried an estrogen supplement patch for the week of my period. Nothing worked and I was frustrated with putting more hormones into my body to basically fix what the birth control had goofed up. Because I have PCOS, I do have to take a higher dose. I have learned that if I take two in the morning and one in the afternoon, I ovulate in about 3 weeks, giving me a 5 week cycle. If I take two in the morning and two in the afternoon, I have a perfect 4 week cycle but sometimes feel painful twinges in my ovaries during the first two weeks of the cycle, while I am working on pushing out an egg to ovulate. Regardless of the option, I always know when I ovulate (breast tenderness) and when my period is due. I also used those ovulation strips when I first tried Maca to make sure I knew what was going on and when I was ovulating. This is really a life-saver and the only way I can have a regular cycle without birth control, and I like knowing that my body is actually functioning. I have also learned that I can stop taking the Maca after I have ovulated, as my problem is with ovulation and once that happens, my body does what it is supposed to do until I have a period. This drug has not cured my acne but I would say it is no better or worse than when I was on birth control, which actually is saying something about how well my cycle is regulated. As an aside, I did once try another brand of Maca that was more inexpensive. It worked but not quite as reliably as this brand, and I switched back. It is worth the price. If you have PCOS and are desperately trying to regulate your cycle, especially if you need to know when you are ovulating to get pregnant, BUY THIS! You will be so happy you did!

I believe this is a high quality product and the customer service is great. I was using Macalife for 2 years (started at age 41) with mixed results. It sometimes felt like it helped me with my hormonal imbalance that result in sleep issues, but then it would stop working and I would take a break. I emailed customer service to get recommendations and they said I should try Macaharmony (I’m 44 now). I do like the way I feel on it a lot better, my mood is better, my cycle has regulated, sleep is better. But with a huge negative side effect that I decided I can’t live with after being on it for almost 4 months is weight gain and fluid retention which causes my face to look bloated and puffy. I didn’t connect it to Macaharmony at first bc I didn’t have these issues with Macalife but that lets you know the formulas are truly different with different effects so make sure you’re choosing the right one. I’m glad I finally figured it out though bc I was wondering why I looked so terrible lately with my puffy face. I still haven’t decided if I’ll go back to Macalife and just cycle so I don’t form a tolerance or try something else entirely. I’m thinking of trying Shatavari instead as a recommendation from ChatGPT.

have been using this product for over a year now and it does an amazing job of helping to keep my hormones in balance. Came to this product after Yaz pushed my body into a premature state of perimenopause at 39. Getting off the Yaz helped, but the femmenessence definitely helped rebalance things. I am very appreciative of the work that this company has put into taking a scientific approach to the use of maca for this purpose. Couple things to note: 1. This is metabolized in your liver and may cause slightly elevated test results. I ended up having to do additional testing to make sure there was nothing wrong with my liver, but everything was A okay. 2. It is important to follow the instructions regarding taking an occasional week off. I only take one pill, once a day (first thing in the morning), and even at that lower dose, find that after 2-3 months, my heart will be inexplicably racing and I have trouble sleeping through the night. Taking a week off from this supplement makes those symptoms go away. If you start at a higher dose and notice these symptoms, take a week off, then scale back the dosage. 3. Maca supplements work best when taken in conjunction with a good DIM supplement (go with a patented variation like DIMPRO) and calcium d-glucarate. Maca works by helping your glands process hormones and helps to isolate excess estrogen in your system. DIM and CDG help your body efficiently flush that estrogen from your system before your body can reabsorb it. Have recommended this product (in conjunction with DIM/CDG) to several women I know who have menopause related hormone issues. It has been a godsend for me.

I lost my husband almost 4 years ago and have had terrible problems with my cycle ever since...heavy for 3 months at a time, one-two week breaks. The birth control had worked off and on a few years to where I could tolerate this new normal. But I had other side effects (auras - stroke risk) so had to go off sometimes looking for other brands and it never failed...normal periods for a couple months after stopping BC that gradually got longer and longer until month 4 or so it was back to endless bleeding... and eventually after starting up pills again it no longer worked. I was wiped all the time, especially during my "breaks" from bleeding where I just felt like death. I have had CT and ultrasound imaging, blood tests galore, been on various birth control...I was told it's probably stress or trauma induced. By this Spring the last conversation with my gynecologist to control my extreme periods was hysterectomy or Mirena. This pandemic took hold around that time and I was just desperate. I figured I wouldn't be able to get a hysterectomy with the virus around (which was true) and I figured the extreme raw fatigue the bleeding was causing would put me at greater risk. So I came on Amazon (as I unsuccessfully did in the past) out of desperation. I looked at the reviews, made sure they weren't all back to back from the same month and year, and this one just seemed to fit what I needed, so I ordered. My period slowed within the first week and by week two it'd stopped...and, miraculously (Oh, I prayed and prayed many times over the years) my entire cycle got back on track. My labido exists again, I am not only having short, ONCE a month periods...but I can tell I'm regularly ovulating too...and my ovaries do not ache as they did. So..TMI maybe..but this has truly been a Godsend so I am making sure I have more than enough. I hope they never stop making this. *edit: I got a year of relief before the bleeding became heavy and constant again. I really thought this was my cure. I suppose I should just be thankful I got that year.

Took this product for about 2 weeks. It did seem to control my emotion fluctuations but it caused bad headaches for me. Pity
