Appropriate Courses: Conflict Management and Negotiation. Becoming an effective negotiator is a universal skill that can benefit all. Unlike other books, Conflict Management explores how to develop this universal skill, using a very individual, personalized approach. Grounded in theory and research, it examines the psychological and sociological factors inherent in the negotiation process. It explores the complexities of negotiations, by looking at how conflict is related and how temperaments and personality traits impact the process. Filled with exercises, self-assessment tools, examples, and cases, the book links theory to practice and gives readers an opportunity to develop, practice, and perfect their own unique set of negotiation skills. Review: Worth the money spent - This book was a requirement for a course I was taking on conflict management and negotiation. I hate buying books for class because sometimes they are not that great. This one was the exception; it was well-written, yet easy to understand. It was also filled with real world examples and how to techniques that kept things interesting. In addition to the information on the subject it also includes many self-assessments for you that will help you gauge your own personality traits, negotiation style, etc. This book was well worth the money I spent, especially considering that I continually go back to it as a reference for regular situation assessments. Review: Surprisingly Good - I had to buy this for my Conflict Resolution online class at University and originally I was not too impressed because it is a smaller textbook. While I started reading I noticed things felt wordy and restated, however I feel the book was very easy to read and understand. The skills are practical and its hard to get bored reading this book because it also includes quotes and pictures. I am happy I bought this.

Book itself is good.... quality of binding awful
The book is really informative. The binding however fell apart. Pages keep falling out of the book and I'm only 4 chapters in. I take very good care of my books so I'm upset that the quality of the binding is so poor.

This book should be mandatory reading for people teaching (or trying to practice) negotiation.

Poor binding
The content of this book is very good. I purchased this book for a college course so I am unable to return it as I have to have it to complete my course. The issue comes in with very poor binding. The book started coming apart as soon as I opened it the first time. Looks to be like a lack of glue, never have had this happen before with such an expensive book.
