" Knife Throwing is the most authoritative guide on every aspect of the sport. From knives and knife throwing techniques to competition and advice, as well as profiles of pioneers and legends in the field, this book covers it all." — Bobby Branton, President of American Knife Thrower's Alliance (AKTA) Not only is knife throwing fun, but it is also a great sport, entertainment, recreation and exercise. It can be an enjoyable hobby, pastime, or even a profession, and the fundamentals are easy to learn. Anyone who can throw a stick, stone, or baseball can also learn how to throw a knife with skill and accuracy. All you need is a good knife-designed for the purpose, whether made to throw by the handle or blade, a target, and a small portion of the backyard for the throwing range. Few sports can provide so much recreation at so little cost. Knife throwing is a sport in which individual skills can be developed to a very high degree. Expert knife throwing, like great proficiency in any other sport, is formed by natural aptitude and instinct combined with that one magic ingredient: practice! In Knife Throwing by American Knife Thrower's Alliance founder, Harry McEvoy, demonstrates how to throw a knife successfully in chapters such as: It's Fun to Throw a Knife Choice of Weapons How to Throw a Knife How to Develop "Pin-Point" Accuracy How to Select a Throwing Knife Targets: How and Where Tomahawks and Bowies Safety Measures, Rules, and Care of Knives The Professionals Hunting: A New Twist to an Old Sport Tales, Legends and People Review: Great work and good piece of US history... from when USA was truly land of the free..... - This is a great book- that hearkens back to a day when folks could in fact go into their backyard and throw knives and ax's at a target without upsetting anyone in the USA. However, those days in the USA are gone, sadly forever. Furthermore, this book, is more than a practical guide, but a great piece of American history of what freedom in the USA was all about. Not all whom throw, and actually a very few, knives and axes are are in fact psychopaths- but instead sports enthusiasts. This apparently lot art, is in fact great for hand eye coordination, requires some mathematics skills as well as athletic skill/ aptitude. One the TV show Bones, one of main characters- in the FBI- is in fact a skilled knife thrower of carnival / circus quality. Wonder how this fictional character came about these skills in the modern USA, as one could simply not practice, even in the safety of ones own backyard anymore in urban nor suburban America USA?????? Great work and good piece of US history... from when USA was truly land of the free..... Review: Cool stuff. - Precise and easy to read with lots of practical advice for the beginner and the experienced. I would recommend this to anyone who desires printed material for reference.

Great for beginners!
Wonderfully informative in addition to well-written, this book is a must for any beginner to the art! I bought this for my niece, who wanted to get into knife throwing, as well as some practice knives and her first sharp set. She's learned a lot in a few months!

Dang good read. I like the fact that this book ...
Dang good read. I like the fact that this book actually goes in depth about the history of knife throwing and especially with a guy who KNOWS what he's talking about. Knife throwers have their own special ways of learning how to throw and hack at a stump or other target. I love Mr. McEvoy's points in this little book. He gives simple direction with pictures and instructions on how to throw a different array of knives and hatchets/Axes. I suggest both new and seasoned knife throwers to pick this book up. It's influential, inspiring and eye opening to the world of throwers. Worth every penny. Thanks a ton!

Not good to learn how to throw Knives.
I bought it expecting much more detailed information on the throwing techniques themselves and it has only a very short chapter dedicated to the throwing techniques and for that small amount of information it was not worth the price paid. A good book for someone who is into professional knife throwing stunts. Not recommended for a wannabe knife thrower.

Lets start throwing knives
So I bought the book in an attempt to recapture those boring summer afternoons. I also got a set of throwing knives, 8 inch long, here on amazon. I admit that this book isn't going to throw the knives for you. I had some time where no knives would stick. I continued to read the first 3 chapters over and over again and it seemed as though I had a better chance hitting the lotto than finally sticking the knife. But the book gives you the very basic and technical devices to which you add your own personal touches. Eventually, after figuring out the physics behind the spin, the knives started to stick to my target, and now I can thrown pretty darn well. The book even goes one step further, giving you advice for long distance throwing, making targets, and axe-throwing. All in all, the book has all the information in one place, is complemented with great pictures, and can give you the know how to throw a knife. All you need to provide is a few afternoons and some patience!

Practicar si quieres ser experto
Lo único que hay que hacer es practicar, practicar, y practicar. Los libros no te van a enseñar nada. La teoría en estos casos no sirve mucho
