Product description Greek Pine and Thyme HoneyA delightfully speciality Greek honey harvested from pine trees and thyme bushes that coexist in the Cretan ecosystem.A unique type of pine honey, whose distinctive flavour has been famous in Crete ever since the Minoan era. Our Cretan honey is collected early in September and is characterised by the dark amber color, rich aroma, thick texture and intense taste. It is rich in minerals and proteins and does not granulate easily. Pine honey is a perfect choice for your herbal teas and smoothies and a delicious drizzle for puffs, cakes, toasted bread, crepes.Meligyris Cretan ApiaryAt Meligyris Cretan Apiary we continue a long bee farming heritage that dates back to 1920 holding dear to traditional beekeeping methods, producing pure honey. Our hives are spread across the island of Crete and give us a wide range of varietal honeys featuring the depth and diversity of the Cretan wild flora.Traditional methods of extraction and collection are used to ensure that the enzymes, protein and natural goodness of honey stay within. All our honey is unfiltered, unblended, unheated and unpasteurised, preserving all the natural health benefits as well as the distinctive aromas and taste of pure Cretan honey. The unique characteristics of Meligyris honey are strongly connected to the unique ecosystem of the island: the mountainous terrain of Crete, the flora (rare wild herbs and brushwood) and the microclimate (altitude, sea breeze, warm & dry climatic conditions). Crystallisation and HoneyCrystallisation is a natural process of pure honey and does not affect its nutritional value. Some honeys crystallize uniformly, while others crystallize partially in the jar. To turn a jar of crystallized unheated honey to liquid state, simply place it over a warm water bath of 40ยบC for about 15 minutes. Perfection!
This is exactly what I have been waiting for! After receiving Greek honey from zante for a present where the bees lived within a similar eco system and produced honey of this quality ( this is probably better)I had to buy Greek honey. It has the most beautiful colour and consistency. It tastes of a beautifully produced honey, it has a taste but nothing like the medicinal taste of Manuka, which I personally donโt enjoy. Itโs perfect and I would definitely recommend you give it a try, I will be a returning customer.

No features mentioned on bottle label
The one thing that surprised me is that none of the claims made on the Amazon description were anywhere on the bottle label - except Taste Award . If it claims to be all it does on the site, at least some features should be mentioned on the bottle. I am hence doubtful of the authenticity of this product. Advertising features on Amazon a company many not be responsible but once it is on the label it would be legal - and that not being done is questionable. I am not looking for only taste I want a natural and pure product.

You will find it very difficult to buy supermarket honey ever again!
I normally only purchase Scottish Regional Honey; however, due to Covid-19, it is proving very difficult to source. My attraction to this particular honey is the exceptional health benefits it has to offer: as far as I can acertain, it is pure 100% raw, unpasteurised honey. The flavour has a unique rich & smokey taste: you will find it very difficult to buy supermarket honey ever again!

Sticky
This is great honey, viscous and well flavoured but in my most recent order either the jar had leaked in transit or had been carelessly filled; it was very sticky. Being such thick honey, removing all traces from the packaging was surprisingly difficult. I though it was washed clean but it still left a sticky ring in the larder shelf. It still tastes good though.
