Beautiful Grass
Although Zoysia is very slow going, once it starts the grass is incredible. My back lawn is so thick and beautiful for plugs put in years ago. No weeds! These new ones are growing but will take a while. Be aware that Zoysia grass spreads and can eat into the blacktop. When I mow, I make sure I weedwhack along the blacktop. I just had a landscaper visit. He had never heard of zoysia before and was impressed with it.

Great product - arrived looking healthy!!!
The plugs arrived within 24 hours of order and the grass blades were green, they were damp so the roots didnโt dry out. Planted them today (within 24 hours of receipt). Couldnโt plant sooner as it was raining outside. Hope they do well. The instructions were very clear.

They are doing pretty good
At first look they looked stressed with some blades turning brown but I realize they have been in a box for two or three days and in hot trailers. I put them in the ground a day after I received them. They are still alive and two or three do have runners coming off them. I followed the instructions as well as I could with them and Iโm hoping for the best. I do plan on ordering more this weekend. Bobby

Great quality of plugs. Seem to be rooting well. Time will tell if they spread.
Arrived well packaged. Planted them around our yard in bare spots. Seem to be taking well. Gave a couple to neighbors to try. Only time will tell as they spread, but seem to be great quality.

Surviving My notoriously black thumb
The plugs arrived over a week earlier than expected and they were gorgeous. We opened the boxes and set the trays in the yard and watered for two days before we could plant. Planting was ridiculously easy and took no time at all. Our soil pH was ok so we set straight in without adding nutrients. A little sandy in that area though. Hubby eyeballed the first tray and planted too far apart but I filled in with the second. Most of the plugs are now approx 12 inches apart. We planted in an area we wanted to test first, reason for only two trays. Near an oak tree that gets direct and filtered sun from around noon until 6. We were not sure if it got enough sun given the coverage of that tree, and there are several other trees in our yard that posed the same threat. We watered every morning between 6 and 7 for three solid weeks and are approaching the end of week 4, we have watered every other day this week and for shorter duration (15 mins compared to 45). We intend to mow this weekend for the first time prior to planting the four additional trays we are expecting, since I do need to fill in a few more in this area. We have not lost a single plug, they are all very green still and most are spreading. We have 5 or 6 looking a little puny but they were deliberately placed near weeds and roots to test for strength. Still green, but possibly suffering. The weeds are growing with all the watering and I will now begin pulling them but I left them alone since realistically they will appear until these have filled in and I wanted real expectations for maintenance needs. We have ordered four more trays expected this week to squeak in before it's too late to plant. We live 25 minutes SE of the Raleigh in NC, have had very little rain since we planted these, and a great many days exceeding 95 degrees. These little suckers are survivors. Pictures taken three weeks apart so difficult to see a difference but enough in real life for my mailman to get excited about them after returning from a weeks vacation. Update April 8, 2018: Itโs been a weird winter with not much spring yet but last week suddenly almost all of the plugs turned green. There are about a fourth of them struggling, but they are in a high runoff area but are slowly greening up. Iโll post more pictures after the last freeze is behind us. Very pleased to see them at this point. Ordering more next week.

Highly Recommend
These plugs of grass came looking very green and healthy. We have planted them and they are taking root. If you need a start of this type of grass, I highly recommend these.

Not worth it.
Planted most as just plugs in an area that I kept watered and all the plugs died. I took several and left them at a mat, plowed the ground and placed in a part of the yard where I watered it for over 2 months. All of the plugs died. Money wasted, IMHO. We have weeds in the yard with caterpillar grass. I was hoping to get this grass to replace the weeds and grass we have. I won't be buying again.

No runners, poor growth
Grass stalks were green and full when they arrived. Took them out of the planting cell and there were very few roots and no runners. Used an auger to make the holes for planting. Followed the planting and watering instructions that came with them for how to plant and fertilize. Had some growth on top but the bottom grass was turning brown. They have rooted down in the soil but have not spread or produced any runners and it has been over a month. Will not purchase these again.
