I had to buy a second hourglass as the first one cracked because I applied too much pressure when I clamped the wooden frame I made for it. Lesson learned and I left more room the second "time" around.Very impressed with the packaging as the glass arrived safely.I recommend this hourglass but be aware just how fragile they are.

Absolutely PERFECT!I have several ornate and gaudy hourglasses. I tend to go for the full 60 minute glasses. When I opened the box for this one I immediately thought NO WAY is this going to run a full hour...However, I was proven to be utterly incorrect. The one I received runs for 61 minutes exactly (yes I timed it). It's absolutely great. Love it. Rather suspect I will be ordered another in a different color.Very happy indeed.

I can't testify as to the accuracy of this sand timer as I bought it as an item of decor. But as such it is great - quirky and bright. It came well packaged, surrounded with styrofoam to prevent breakage in transit, which is good because it is very thin at the neck. But it stands sturdily and looks very fine.

The item itself was a bit misty when it arrived, I guess due to the quality of the sand. I wanted to check whether it was an hour as other reviewers said some of the hourglasses were not, as in not a full hour. On checking it this hour glass was 18 or so minutes. I have returned it.

Looked nice although the glass looked purple from the dusty sand, I returned this product because the sand was not going through properly and it took 73 minutes at one point to finish. It was a birthday present for a friend otherwise I would have kept it for myself as it did look very stylish.

A lovely timer beautiful colour and is an hour timer precisely.

What a ridiculous item, states large....maybe to tom thumb this wold be large. It's a tiny little item and i'm so dissapointed by the misleading description.
