Most bathroom suites in Europe, particularly Spain and Italy use a 3/8" thread whereas 1/2" is standard for the UK.

Some retailers in the UK supply bathroom suites which are manufactured in Europe and have a 3/8" thread so you

need to be diligent and measure the thread across to see if it is a 3/8" or 1/2".
