Two Peas & Their Pod Cookbook: Favorite Everyday Recipes from Our Family Kitchen

I'm a cookbook nerd. I love them (the great ones). I'd rather have the cookbook on my counter getting messy than looking at a recipe on a computer or its printout. A great cookbook starts with delicious recipes, but it doesn't stop there. It creates a user friendly design, adds gorgeous photos, educates, and entertains. This book has ALL of it!! I knew the recipes would be great and simple and fresh and easy to make, that's just how Two Peas operates. I expected their cookbook would turn out well, but my expectations have been surpassed. I love how the content covers appetizers through desserts, including hearty vegetarian options. I always struggle coming up with side dishes, but they have those too. I've already tagged so many recipes to try that I won't need ideas for awhile. There is even a section providing easy and fun ideas for feeding big groups or hosting a party. There are other tips and tricks included throughout the book in educational sections (stocking a kitchen for success, etc), in sidebars, and as notes on the recipe. I had no idea you could tell the ripeness of an avocado by using a stem trick. Why not pick up new skills while trying out a recipe?! I also found the "He said, She said" sections fun. I like to learn about the people behind the recipes. This book is as pretty as it is useful. It could double as a coffee table book. Everyone should have this book in their kitchen. It's a fantastic gift idea for those who love to cook, or are just beginning, because it works for all skill levels and has a wide variety of recipes to please everyone's palates. I'm loving this book and highly recommend it. I also recommend making the cinnamon rolls. Best recipe I've ever tried and I haven't found a store/bakery bought cinnamon roll that I like better.

My all time favorite cook book. I have gifted this cook book probably 10 time now. The recipes are easy to follow and I will ALWAYS use Maria when it comes to a dessert recipe. Without fail, anytime I make something from her, I get loads of compliments. Her Chocolate chip cookie recipe in this book is now known as my recipe to friends and family as I have used it so many times. I use it as a base quite often and mix in any other chocolate candy I have left at the house and it works every time. Highly recommend doing that with leftover Halloween candy! this particular book was wrapped and shipped extremely well and I'm so glad as I ordered 2 of them as a gift and I was worried they may get damaged in shipping.

I am a bit of a cookbook and food fanatic! With four young kids at home, it’s sometimes difficult to navigate a middle ground between all the healthy food I want us to be eating and the more traditional comfort foods that my kids love. That’s where this cookbook is such a big win for me!! It has a fantastic balance of delicious treats and gorgeous hearty meals that I feel great about serving to my family. I love the fact that there is a wonderful selection of vegetarian meals, and so many meals that are full of fresh, from scratch ingredients, plus yummy meat options and great kid friendly dishes! There’s really something for everybody here! Also, it’s so handy to have her tips and suggestions from so many things from meal planning and pantry organizing to ideas for hosting large groups with ease. This cookbook is such a delight to read, we have loved every recipe so far, and I’m sure it will continue to be a staple in my kitchen for many years!

So much information packed in one cookbook! It took me a couple years to decide to get this wonderful cookbook. I have made several things from the blog and never has anything disappointed me. Just wonderful tasty recipes. The soups I've made are out of this world. Maria has an email each week with several recipes.I especially love their THIS AND THAT post. It is a he and she posting each week with links to everything from sports, hobbies, cooking, books, clothing that Maria loves. Just a mix of fun and interesting things to read. I'm Looking forward to pouring through the cookbook and entertaining friends and family . It was nice to read about Maria and Josh's passion for cooking. I have no doubt their boys will be , or are little chefs too.. I do think you should introduce all of us to Maria's Dad on the blog. He seems to have been a real catalyst for Maria's cooking/baking passion. His Cinnamon sweet rolls are terrific. Perhaps you could do a video of Maria and Dad making the sweet rolls! Thanks a million!

Great and easy recipes that have been a refreshing addition to our family meals! Especially loved the baked goods and salad ideas!

Only having recently discovered her blog I immediately fell in love with their fresh and family friendly recipes!! The book delivers on the expectation of more innovate and delicious recipes that appeal to both the novice and seasoned cook alike. The book is visually stunning which is very important to me when buying a cookbook. I read through the entire book and immediately made her famous CCC. Being a cookie lover, I’ve made countless iterations of cookies, but these were incredible!! My husband has declared them his favorite chocolate chip cookie to date!! I personally am vegetarian and this book had so much that appealed to me but there is also plenty for the meat eater as well! Get this book it won’t disappoint!!!!

I’ve had this book for just about a month now and have made dinners from this book seven times now, two of them repeats, all of them hits in my family. The recipes I’ve made so far have been fairly simple, but deeply flavorful. I’m excited to delve further into the book. I’d highly recommend it. So far I’ve made huevos rancheros twice, chicken taquitos twice, a sweet potato hash, roasted cauliflower chowder and a creamy tomato soup that rivals Panera’s. I’ll try to update as I cook more from the book but so far it’s a home run in my house. This is an author whose books I’ll buy sight unseen (for me Ellie Krieger’s books and Jennifer Segal, Genevieve Ko, Deb Perelman books.)

Have been a fan of Maria Lichty’s blog for years and was so thrilled when she published this beautiful book. The photography is beautiful, recipes well explained with easy to find ingredients, and Maria’s style of cooking for her family and encouraging us to do the same - exemplary! I love her style and recipes. This book deserves more than 5 stars!!!
