Superb, I just want more!
This works perfectly and has just been replaced with the 4X line I believe. It's easy to install with multiple options and fitted with ease on my helmet. The JBL upgraded speakers have amazing clarity even when cruising at motorway speeds. Find the microphone to be a little difficult when having phone calls at higher speed but it's serviceable otherwise! Haven't tested the unit to unit Comms but I am strongly considering upgrading to the Packtalk Bold just because I like this so much. Battery lasts well over 10 hours and the software is easy to use and understand. Will soon be changing helmets and will transfer the unit across, already know it'll be a breeze.

Well worth the money
Amazing little device does everything I want it to and way more. Not used multi rider mode yet. But music and voice brilliant sound with clear voice even when at speed. Sound increases when bike is going faster then reduces automatically when speed is reduced. Some posts said the button to release device can be easily pressed and released. In my opinion this is not the case. When wearing leather gloves the button is a leaver and has to be pulled away from helmet to release, it is not possible with gloves on. Connectivity is brilliant and simple connecting 2 devices it tells you which device is connected. I've chosen to stick mine on rather than use the clamp adapter. No problems at all with coming off. Took less than 1 min to setup in my helmet. Would definetly buy again.

Easy to Use. Works.
Decent product. The unit is thinner than I expected. Good feature set. Like someone else, I found the voice control worked best when trying a bit of an American twang. Other than sounding like a bell end, the voice control works reasonably well, but nae perfect. Probably due to my dodgy accent. The clamp mounting doesn't fit a Schuberth E1, so it's stuck on. (It's not a two-piece clamp with a screw, as other systems have. It's a one-piece plastic item, that you pull open to go over the edge of the lid. Feels robust enough, but if it doesn't fit well on the lid, you can't fettle with it.) Can easily feel the control buttons through gloves & they're well spaced. Connected first time with (the original Cardo) Schuberth SRC system for intercom. Easy enough to install. Instructions were in French, German & Italian. Plenty graphics though, so not much of an issue. Cardo smartphone app seems to work okay. Like the big on-screen buttons, which helps if you normally wear reading glasses.

Brilliant piece of kit
Very happy. I have used 2 previous Cardo systems and this Freecom does not disappoint. Easy to fit, great battery life and good sound.

Most frustrating intercom ever
Meant to make my life easier while riding but instead just annoyed and frustrated me. Every time I asked for music on the only reply I got was “music off”. Then I kept asking and it would randomly call my speed dials. Ask for radio on, “radio on” then silence. I made sure the unit was properly updated and tried different settings but every time nothing worked as it should. Now for other problems, sound quality of phone calls was absolutely awful, anything above 40mph and you’ll struggle to hear what the person is saying. Thats while wearing a decent helmet with low wind noise levels. Music sound quality (when you get it to work) was pretty good but not loud enough for motorway speed. Finally sat nav audio…. The worst possible. Basically It would have been better just to have the satnav speaking through it’s own internal speaker than use it through the intercom.

Absolute Beauty just one issue
Ok. So after deciding to go all out and get the JBL version, I was not disappointed! These sound like a night club in your helmet. Altough I have encountered a problem the right side earphone as you can hear in the video it seems to rattle almost as if it's blown. I've had them less then a week and never ride with full volume! After testing it at home to see what the max sound sounds like I discovered this irritating problem. Therefore I have ordered a replacement and exchanging for the exact same ones! They are brilliant! Tried to send this to the seller directly as proof that even through a video recording it is very distinctive, imagine in your ear whilst riding! NO complaints, just faulty one.

At the moment it's the best in market
Don't waste your time with other brands i have almost all of them and this is the only one every single thing work perfectly with it ao instead of buying few others to pay less but all end up in bin or shelf so yourself a faver just get cardo and enjoy music and call on your bike.

Poor phone sound quality, poor support
I have installed this into my HJC IS MAX 2, The speaker cavity in the helmet is a bit too small. It doesnt fit the JBL speakers inside properly but still comfortable. The music quality is very good. I have been testing the helmet indoor first in a quitter environment. The intercom sound is ok. But when making/receiving phone call. The receiving volume is clear but my outgoing sound from mic is extremely low, people can just about hear me. when outside riding I have to repeat everything as people cant hear me very well. Mic is not loud enough. I've not really tested with intercom while riding. Voice command is hit and miss. You ask for the music to turn on instead the radio turns on. While riding the really have to repeat and talk louder. Sometimes is starts calling people in my speed dial list when using voice commands. I have lowered the voice command sensitivity but doesn't help, instead it doesn't recognise the voice commands. I installed the latest firmware version 3.6 as of 03/03/22 I have tried to contact support and they still haven't got back to me. I've left a voice mail with cardo support and they got back to me, it would be great if they can publish actual support phone number rather than voicemail line.16/03/22

Music almost inaudible at highway speeds with earplugs in
It's a cool concept for a product. I haven't tried it yet for taking calls while out on the road, so I can't speak to this feature. However, one of the main things I got this freecom 4+ is its JBL speakers for playing music while riding. With earplugs in, going along at highway speeds, the only music I can make out is a faint trace or outline of the song. Just barely loud enough that you can follow along to the song only if you already know the song really well. Otherwise, it gets drowned out pretty easily. I have it turned up all the way to maximum (even disabled automatic volume adjustment through the app). I've read from other reviews that some people say this is due to poor placement of the speakers within the helmet. However, I have an AGV K3 (or K1 - can't recall exactly). This is one of the most popular, most common helmets on the market. It has cutouts around the ear area specifically to fit speakers such as this one. I cannot place a speaker outside of this cutout as there is no appropriate surface area to do so, nor enough clearance between the helmet and my head. Therefore, there is no other possible placement option (unless someone can point me in the right direction) for these speakers. Overall, pretty disappointed with these units. I wouldn't have forked out nearly $300 for an *upgraded* speaker version that I can barely hear. When I'm in town traffic and not battling the wind, it is pretty clear. The quality of the audio during slow traffic is pretty nice. Just disappointed it doesn't allow you to dial up the volume beyond a relatively quiet maximum.

Get it, you won't regret it.
I actually love the Freecom 4+ it has enhanced an already incredible activity. If you can't hear the speakers, figure it out, you might have to alter your cheekpads if you don't have speaker pockets in your helmet. I have an Arai XD4 with the JBL speakers from the 4+ installed IN the cheekpads, with some foam removed, it is plenty loud enough without affecting safety. I also have an auxiliary Freecom mount installed on a Scorpion EXO R420 that has the standard non-JBL speakers and due to the speaker pockets it is louder than the JBL speakers in my Arai XD4 . Get it if you really dont like it return it. I will comment on the voice recognition being horrible, it is, you will likely find yourself yelling into your helmet, but it's kinda fun. Despite the voice recognition being horrible you have great sound coming from the song of your choice, map directions from google maps, when paired with your partners helmet provides amazingly clear communication and an even more shared experience, for it's minimal faults, it's ease of install, usable features and slim profile make the freecom 4+ a winner in my eyes, and to those i've recommended and purchased. I know it may be a difficult choice, but even though we don't know each other, trust me you'll love it.

Excellent product, good audio quality and feature set.
Excellent audio quality with the JBL speakers previously used UClear units and the audio quality of the Cardo is far superior, voice commands work well when you switch your language to UK English (I'm Australian). Install was easy, installed my Cardo into a HJC i90 modular using the boom mic. Call quality is excellent. The audio volume attenuation works well. All in all an excellent product value for money is there at the Amazon price, not sure if I would pay the RRP of $470 AUD though.
