I got 6 yo yo's for Christmas,, the strings frayed and fell apart the first day.. what can you do for me??

Hi Margaret;Sorry to hear about your problem.I have never experience this.and have purchased many over the years.You must have gotten some very cheap or old(rotten) ones.I have some that are several years old and still good and strong.For some reason they are fairly expensive,usually about $3 for 5 strings.Yomega sell a package of them that I find very good,some are the normal string color and some are colored,but all are good,and I have never experienced fraying.A string should last for hours of normal use,and it won't fray,but will break in the end.Drop me an e-mail ,and let me know how you made out.Jerryguild@Sympatico.ca

Is this a good yoyo for a 6 year old?

Yes I bought one for my 7 yr. old grandson and he loved it.

We purchased this from you on Amazon, it does not spin very long nor does is sleep. Should I return or are we doing something wrong?

I got 3 of these yoyos for a 5year old, 12 year old boy, and 14 yr old girl. It is a great 'beginning yoyo' and the 5 year old was able to master the 'up and down' in a short time. He loved it, because other yoyos are not as responsive or easy. The 12 and 14 year olds worked HARD to master the sleep mode, but once they did, they love this yoyo as well. You have to be able to flick the yoyo very strongly and the sleep mode does not last more than 30 seconds, but is very responsive at the end of the 'sleep'. I think they are ready for the next level of yoyo to do more tricks, but these have been great entry level yoyos for all 3.
