OXO Good Grips Stainless Steel Julienne Prep Vegetable Peeler

I used to shred carrots by julienning them with a knife, which is not easy. I had no idea you could buy shredders like this until I saw one at a friend’s house. It is so fast! And so much safer than using a knife. It resembles a potato peeler and is used in much the same way - I peeled a carrot and then cut into it the same way I would peel skin off a carrot or potato and I got a whole lot of shreds. The blade must be pretty sharp as it cut so well and each piece of carrot was same shape. Mess was minimal, the only thing I had left at the end was a thin slice of carrot which became a snack for the cook. The Oxo Good Grips brand is well known for comfortable handles and reliable products. The shredder fitted nicely in my hand and was very easy to use. Given the quality of the Oxo brand I would expect this shredder to be very durable and last a long time, so it should be worth the money I paid.

I was influenced by one the gals on a website to make a Karen’s salad. She was using this julienne and I knew I needed to have it. Giving my honest review- the julienne is a nice addition to my other kitchen gadgets. It is very sharp, an it peels carrots fairly easily. I needed up peeling about ten 10 carrots! Which is a lot and it did a good job. The reason I gave it a 4 star is because I wish it came with a cover for storage. I hate leaving sharp object in my drawer where kids can accidentally grab it. I been putting in ziplock bag to avoid getting hurt. My other down fall of it, it doesn’t make even cuts. Some will be very long, some are short. The hands do get tired holding the carrot from spinning and trying to keep it in one place. Over all, I do like it!

This is great! Its a little on the small size, but I have small hands so its fine for me. It is very sharp, strong and sturdy when using. I've been using it for carrots and long radishes for salads its perfect. I did use it for cabbage and I was happily surprised it worked better than my chef knife skills. So go ahead, get it, it'll make you happy.😁

You just use it like a peeler but get thin slices of carrot. Nice for Cole slaw.

This is very convenient when you only need a small amount of julienned vegetables. The blade is very sharp as well. My issue is that the handle is shorter/smaller than I would like and making it difficult to keep a firm grip after a while.

I saw this on a cooking video and had to have it. I love it for carrots, squash, beets and cucumbers. So fun and easy to use to make your salads and vegetables fun to eat. Perfect for stir fry, curtido, and salads.

Compré otro que era muy bueno en acero, pero en poco tiempo se estropeó y me devolvieron el dinero y con el dinero devuelto compré este y genial.

Cuts well but strips are only a couple of mm so a tad thinner than I usually cut Julienne strips but it's difficult to cut them this small and consistently by hand. It's a good, fast and cheap way to Julien veg but maybe a little too thin. That's a matter of taste though. Good product happy with purchase.
