The Usborne Book of World History

I had an earlier version of this book when I was 8 and I loved it. I've just got the latest version for my 7 and 8 year olds, they're hooked! Each well-illustrated two page section breaks down a potentially very dry subject into easily absorbed chunks bringing history to life in a format children find easy to understand and gets them asking questions and wanting to know more. Tucked away in some of the sections are also easy to follow instructions for making "Blue Peter" style some of the inventions shown in the book, such as Roman catapults and water clocks, A great supplement to what they're learning at school and fun too.

This book is packed with colourful pages which keep children's interest. I bought it for my 9 year old grandson and he loves it and is always telling me interesting facts he has learnt. It covers a lot of the worlds history from different parts of the world
