We bought a Camelot style outdoor electronic deadbolt and needed a simple but elegant-looking handle to grasp and hold the door closed when locking the deadbolt. This decorative dummy handle was the least expensive stylish handle we found. It’s a static door handle fixed to the door that does not twist. It’s there to let you hold on to something so that closing the door is a lot easier. The handle comes in simple frustration-free packaging that includes the handle and hardware plus simple single sheet of paper instructions. You will need to source a drill and correct size bit as well as a Philips head screwdriver to complete the installation. The installation itself is simple. The handle is screwed into the door with two Philips screws and comes with a simple template for marking holes to drill. The holes are centered on the base so you can easily work out your positioning. I simply placed a vertical strip of masking tape on the door and marked the holes on the tape through the template using a punch. Then I drilled the holes, removed the tape and screwed on the handle. The procedure took about five minutes. Once done, we had quite an attractive-looking, aged bronze handle that goes well with the deadbolt we bought and with the dark-green door. A lovely and practical result. I highly recommend it.

The one sided 'dummy' lever was exactly as expected. Matched the 'passage' and 'privacy' units perfectly. I also purchased several of the 'passage' and 'privacy' units. Products appears to be good quality. Very easy to install, I replaced old Kwik-set units. Took only a couple minutes. Had to give the 'dummy' and the 'passage' only one star for both 'lock feature, and 'easy to lock', simply because it is a 'dummy' and a 'passage', doesn't have a lock at all, not intended to lock. So, could not give a high rating for something that does not apply. But the 'privacy' set locks and unlocks perfectly, just as you would expect it to do. All appear to be very good quality. The ones I had to switch sides on, were very easy to do. Schlage includes a tool (which is also the 'key' for the privacy set), making the switch very quick and easy. The 'privacy' set lock lever is a button, rather than a 'turn' knob, so there is no issue like I read about on other manufactures sets being horizontal or vertical when locked or unlocked. Any other advice to others looking to purchase, is to make sure you order what you need, regarding the 'dummy' being 'left' and 'right', because there is only one lever, so no option to flip or switch it. This was well worth the extra cost, compared to other manufactures.

These look great we just did the whole house in the Camelot aged bronze. It really makes a difference to use nice decorative hardware for the doors. Here are some tips. For some reason even professionals do not know this. The handle installs like the picture shows. With the end of the handle pointing down. Our locksmith installed them randomly and I had to go and fix 50% of them to all be the same direction. Now when I walk through other people's houses I cannot help but notice many are wrong as well. There is a unit for the front door called a key set and dead bolts. There are working door handles that do not have a privacy lock (not security, just privacy e.g. bathroom), there are working handles with a privacy lock. Also there are dummy handles that only attach on one side of the door - these just pull open a door with no mechanism. If you open these door from both sides then you will need dummy handles for both sides. I had a locksmith key all the dead bolts and key sets to one key and also 2 high quality padlocks for the gates. Now one key gets me in the whole house. This has worked out great. My only complaint is that they do not give you extra decorative screws. I broke a couple of screw heads off while installing and I had no extras and I had no idea where to get some spares. I had an extra handle by mistake so I just stole those screws.

Can't go wrong with Schlage hardware. Replace interior door and needed these for the stationary 12 lite doors. Finish is great and consistent with all the other doors.
