EDIT: After using this charger for a couple months, driving from the Pacific Northwest to Michigan's UP and back, on gravel roads and interstate highways in a huge dually pickup that rides like an ox cart, it is still fantastic! So I want to respond to some of the complaints about it that have been posted since I wrote my review. The strength of the magnets is excellent. If a device is falling off of this charger, it is because the device was mispositioned on the charger, the device is an early MagSafe iPhone with weaker magnets, or the device is in a case that is low quality or non-MagSafe. It surprises me how many people put their MagSafe phone in a case that isn't MagSafe and then complain about their phone not sticking to MagSafe chargers. As for vibration, this charger is rock solid. If a phone is vibrating on it, this is because the AMPS mount itself is vibrating. That's not the charger's fault. (This does happen to me on washboard gravel roads.) FWIW, I'm back to buy my fourth MagicMount charger! Original review: I purchased the Scosche MEQMRAMPS MagicMount Qi2 to replace an old clamp-style phone holder that was installed in my truck on an AMPS-style bracket. It was a simple matter to remove the old phone clamp and replace it with this Scosche. The magnetic coil seems to hold my iPhone at least as securely as Apple's latest 25W OEM charger. I love the sleek, clean design of this product. The dark grey and black materials have a matte finish that looks great and blends well with my truck's interior. The innovative cable management system completely eliminates any excess cable. And the soft surface of the charging pad ensures that nothing gets scratched. This is a well thought out product. This product has two main components: the MagicMount charging pad; and the charger itself, which is a 40W charger with Power Delivery that fits into a cigarette lighter-style power port in a vehicle. It features two USB-C ports, leaving users with one available port even after the Scosche is plugged in. I did not use or test the Scosche charger. In terms of heat, it is important to remember that wireless charging is more convenient but less efficient than plugging in a USB-C cable into your phone. Heat is the result of this inefficiency. There is no way to avoid heat with a wireless charger. But how hot is normal? I consider the heat generated when charging with the new Apple 25W MagSafe charging puck to be the reference point. Well-designed third-party chargers shouldn't get significantly hotter when charging. To test this, I plugged the MagicMount into an Anker charger that I trust, attached my iPhone 13 Pro, and after it had charged for a while, I measured the temperature on the back of the phone with an IR thermometer. I compared this reading to what I got when attached my phone to the Apple 25W puck under the same conditions. I am happy to report that the two measurements were the same. The bottom line here is that I love this product. It looks great and it works well. I like it so much that I will be buying another one to use in my other vehicle. It is easy to recommend. Five stars.

Works great with my Supcase MagSafe case to charge my iPhone 16 pro.

I recently wanted to upgrade my ProClip phone mount to a charging one, but they were out of stock. I found this on Amazon and it was a perfect fit. It lined up with the ProClip mount perfectly -- could not have been any easier! The magnet is strong enough that it holds my phone -- even on bumpy roads! Charges well too. Highly recommend!

This works to charge and installs nicely. It didn’t work for me as my IPhone also needed to plug into a usb port to use Car Play. I didn’t realize it at the time of ordering. I could use Bluetooth, but wouldn’t get the full CarPlay access. Unit is quality built. I also noticed that if I left my Otter Box cover on my IPhone, it would come off the magnetic surface easily.

Works perfectly, clean simple and efficient

First and foremost, the magnet is very, very weak. It does not hold my Samsung S2 Edge or my wife's IPhone 13, with or without a case. It simply slides off. Secondly, , this product must have been a previously returned product, as it came in a bubble wrap without the original packaging. But this is on Amazon or the supplier. Sad that the magnets are so weak. Otherwise the design is simple and elegant and the manufacturering is very well finished.

I bought this to "upgrade" the install on my magsafe wireless charging mount in my car. I bought a nice, car-specific AMPS compatible mount , then went looking for a charger to fit it. Turns out this is one of the only options. I have had good luck with Scosche magnetic mounts in the past (non-magsafe), so I decided to bite the bullet and pay for it. The unit itself looks pretty decent. I like the cord hiding feature. Once I put my phone on it, things went downhill. Its not as strong as my 10$ ebay charger that i had superglued to a regular car mount before. Its harder to get that initial *snap" that tells you your phone is secure. Once its on, it does not hold as strong. Now onto the charging... it includes a little car charger, which seems fine, but my phone keeps lighting up and saying "charging" over and over again, and it never seems to make progress. Again, my lame little "2-pack magsafe chargers" from ebay held stronger and charged better, they just didn't have the fancy mounting plate. Also, the USB cord is built into these, so if the cord breaks... guess what, you get to buy another 70$ phone charger. All in all, i am very unimpressed. This feels like a 15$ product that they decided they could get away with charging 70$ for because there wasn't much competition. Regret.
