A good black licorice taste, reasonable caloric content for diabetics, and just plain good!
I like black licorice but am diabetic with blood pressure issues, so I look for friendly candies for my sweet tooth. These candies are (for me) very good and flavorful, reminding me of black licorice yet not overly sweet or heavy tasting. With four piece portions at 30 calories, they fit right in with my diet. Others may not like the flavor (they are not red licorice) but black. I like the taste but everyone's tastes vary. Another plus is that they don't affect my blood pressure like regular licorice or some all-sorts. That said, the quality is excellent, they are individually wrapped and fresh, and don't age badly or get hard. They are worth what I pay and always a great gift for a diabetic looking for a black licorice fix.

Really really bad
I know and love black licorice in every form, and I love other Bonelle sugar-free sweets, so when I ordered this I was hopeful that the other reviews were somehow wrong or didn't realize they disliked the flavor of anise. Sadly, I agree that there's definitely something terribly off with the flavor of these candies. For the first second or two they taste and feel wonderful. That quickly changes as the flavor turns to what seems like grape - not normal grape though, but a sickly sweet attempt at it that's reminiscent of what AI might create if told to make something grape flavored. That taste itself, especially combined with what anise flavor you do get from the initial bite, is just unbearable.

Does not taste much like licorice,
Does not Small pieces that are invidut ally wrapped so about a pond of plastic. Package comes with a warning that if you eat too much you will get sick.

Disgusting flavor
Absolutely horrible taste!! I love black licorice and licorice candies from all over the world and this is not even close. It has the taste of a horrible mixture of citrus, mint and licorice. It tastes like they mixed everything that was left at the end of the candy making day, threw in some licorice taste and color and hoped for the best. I can guarantee no one taste tested this before it was sent out…disgusting! The only good about this candy is the size, the texture and because it is sugar free. The flavor, which is the most important gets no stars!!!
